Commander Career has arrived in Korea. IL-2 Series!

As I have not explored offline play much I am running the campaign at "Normal" difficulty.  I am playing on a 2K monitor.   7800X3D, 5070TI, 64gigs ram.

Here are my graphics settings.

I want to access the same career missions that you did , and didn't experience CTD, and see if I CTD.

I personally have only flown 2 missions because of being shot down on the second one, though I survived.

1st. mission:  Attack enemy vehicle column

2nd. mission: Attack artillery positions.

Thank you soo much, Blitz ! I will try to reproduce your campaign tonight. 

Really hope it won't CTD, but i doubt. If it does, i'm constantly sending reports to devs.  The dev i'm in direct contact with doesn't write back much, but he is working hard. I'm hoping he'll give me more instructions as to simulate what he specifically needs and me be of better help. 

I've also started my own "investigation", hoping to be of help more.

So far i've discovered that except for 2, all, all, the CTD events (35) were caused by the Noesis.dll module, and all with the error code 0xc0000005 which is a Windows Access Violation exception.

Current date April 7th.

I've flown 3 Sorties all CAS and the Squadron has flown a total of 7. Can't fly them all myself, someone has to do the paperwork.

I have never had a CTD.

did the first 2 missions from this career. also the P-80 career's mission that i was asking Viking1 to do. this time all went smooth.

I had the (false) impression that El's settings were without fullscreen. False, but i've changed that for me in "fullscreen disabled" and didn't experienced CTD. not once!

It's the first time!!!! Soooo happy ! 

Awesome! The new career is so complex, detailed, alive.

Dunno what i've changed, except fullscreen, but it worked.

Just started a F-86 Sabre career. The bomber intercept missions only give option of single plane. I flew two of those missions and it didn't allow assigning a wingman. Feels wrong to fly alone.

I believe those are the night bomber intercept missions (which happen at dawn?).

 

The other bomber intercept will allow you to choose up to 12.

Can we please oh please start to see some infantry targets in the campaigns? I expect this should be easier to action than the improvements to the AI that are required!

Yes, they were not day missions. I think they happened at dusk.

Please look a bit back in the thread. Or use search function. @LukeFF explains this a bit in detail: in short, they are sort of night interceptors, and due to risk of collision they flew alone. It's accurate by history, from what I've read. Thus they mostly used F-94 Starfire, with cool on-board radar, and 2 man crew, but we don't have that yet.

@Remontti it would be cool to tell after the mission how was the airport lit upon return.

The career is amazing. It really gives you the feeling of being part of a whole war. I hope there will a dynamic  feel  to it. Bravo !

The career concept looks amazing but the execution is absolute abysmal…. I can’t play this anymore until you fixed the brain dead AI.

My AI flights have done a good job of attacking when I tell them to in the career I am playing.

Airport runway lights are generally set to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise, which changes by day. That can be changed manually, but that's what you should see in career missions.

Started a new career today and tried starting the sortie from the hard stand' "parked", followed the white taxi square around to the runway. Just before entering the runway the square got a clock symbol in it. So now what?  Does this mean I have to wait for something? I'm stuck here at the end of the taxi way!

Anybody know?

It has to do with waiting for your AI wingmen to start their engines and line up.

AI wingmen won't line up until you take-off on your own. They won't do so when you tell them to either.

Commander at launch for now. But we are looking forward to various improvements and upgrades of the career mode post launch along with many other updates.

I started a second career today because I wanted to fly an F80 as well as my P51 career.  Got shot down on my first mission to intercept bombers (by a Mig 15), safely ejected over friendly territory, had to spend time in hospital (2 days), and after it said I was ready for active duty I could not assign myself a new plane.  Sent the rest of the squadron on several sorties over several days, and still could not fly again.  So I just deleted that campaign.  I purchased a flight sim to fly.  I enjoy the squadron management more than I thought, but If I can't fly, I'm out.  I will just resume my F51 career.

yes, the process of assigning a new plane is a bit tedious and ..... strange. I've spent some time trying to figure it out.

So, for a plane to be assigned, it has to be on the "unassigned reserve" area, that's the next to last tab, down low. to get a plane there you either receive it from orders, and it goes there, or you deactivate (yes, really) a plane from other pilot. To get a plane from that unassigned reserve pool, you have to click on a pilot's picture (yours, for ex) and select replace aircraft, and choose a plane from there. (unassigned reserve).  but it works only if you have some aircrafts in the unassigned reserve.

!! do not click on a plane with no pilot assigned and choose "pilot file/card", it will CTD !!

it works, but quite strange. damn bureaucracy, although they somehow simulated that too ! 🙂

i really love your P51 career. There is a mission to attack an airfield, on the coast in the east. took 12 planes there, the flak was so intense i've lost half of the team !!!

also the "black" flight i have composed of...., well, you guess, only coloured guys. So far, they are quite successful.

Red Tails !!! just like in the movie ! Soo cool !

Just wondering if it's the intended design to not see any La-11's or Yak-9's as enemies throughout an entire career? I understand that by 1951 the numbers of these kind of aircraft started to go down significantly, but MiG-15's for every mission does get repetitive.
