Valis Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Not so much a bug, but the current visuals when blacking-out make it easier to visually track aircraft. It appears to be the inclusion of bloom effect causing this.
Ludl0w Posted July 23 Posted July 23 (edited) Edit - I just saw that Echo-2 has already posted this visual bug. My apologies for reiterating: The F-84 seems to have a bug in the visual damage model for the upper nose section, where the nose armament is accessed. Occasionally, when damaged, instead of showing the internals of the aircraft like normal, you can see through the front of the aircraft to the pilot. Edited July 24 by Ludl0w

Then I landed, asking permission through the command menu first. My pilot then instructed the flight to break off and land on their own. I landed first, but the others never proceedes to land. They just kept circling overhead. Do you happen to have the mission file?
FuriousMeow Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Standard quick mission, starting off from Kangwon, the nearby artillery placement has half in a rice paddy. Not saying there wouldn't be questionable orders that would result in that, but generally a bad idea on every way to be knee or waist deep in a rice paddy in war with heavy equipment that typically needs very solid ground to work. 1
SubDino Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Hi all, been having great fun with the career mode so far, but I have run into one particular bug. The game crashes after finishing a specific airfield raid mission. Basically, the entire mission runs perfectly fine and after RTB-ing and landing, when I hit "Finish mission", I go to a black screen and then it crashes straight to desktop. When I boot the game back up, the career save is reverted to where it was prior to starting the mission, like it never happened. This occurred with this same mission 3 times in a row, all at the same point, right at the end. I'm linking the dump files here, in case that would be helpful. Oddly enough, the in-game recording of one of my attempts at the mission was saved, despite the crashing. Crash dump files are here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12Dw_MuKfI5oMgTYUwWjRi4cSq-CFN8tI?usp=drive_link Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! 1

That's what the F-80 has at the moment, so if the system supports 8 digits then there doesn't need to be any compromise since the extra tail number digit would bring it to 8 (e.g. FT-9123A is 8 characters). 8x (it just only 7 for the moment used on F-80 - as its enough to keep buzz=3x last digits system) the thing is that it also connected to GUI slots and should be in universal manner for all airplanes (as it gonna be a nightmare to make a specific GUI design for every airplane for numbers setting).

Viking1 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 (edited) My very first CTD today. I had just come back into the CAREER section of the game. I moved one pilot from reserve to active. I chose a new mission and was assigning flights. I excluded one section then hit APPLY -- CTD. gen_mission attached. I was also recording my screen with Adrenalin software. FuriousMeow Posted July 24 Posted July 24 There's an issue with blocks of trees rendering then de-rendering. Most noticeable in 120 FOV. Have details maxed except indirect lighting and grass one below. MSAAx2. The render/de-render isn't consistent like the viewpoint doesn't change drastically. The area around Kuandian exhibits this the most easily to check.
FuriousMeow Posted July 25 Posted July 25 And something that I'm sure is known about and likely a technical limitation... black smoke emitting from ground objects showing through clouds. At this point I'm assuming its not something addressable without a DirectX rendering change from MS but figure I'll report it.

You have your textures and world generation set to Normal. This causes a very large area of blurred textures around the plane. Horizon draw distance - 150 as well. So you don't have everything at maximum :). Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.

Ground textures near your aircraft can appear blurry while more distant terrain remains sharp. You can also see adjacent terrain tiles with noticeably different levels of clarity, making the transitions look unnatural. BTW Terrain setting at maximum. Edited July 25 by Husar 1 2
Mark_Krieger Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I detected that you can start the next mission before you have returned from the previous one in career mode. It has sense if the second mission is with different planes and pilots, but I can do it even repeating the same planes and pilots. Taking off just half an hour later, when in reality the first mission was more than one hour long and they should have to refuel and rearm the planes. It would be interesting a fatigue/stress factor for the pilots that incentivates a bit to take care of the rotations of the pilots. Right now it seems that you can just put your best pilots to fly and just replace them when they are in the hospital. QuantumPeep Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I think I‘ve narrowed down my career CTDs to the following: Changing AC numbers and/or applying squadron decals will result in a CTD, when advancing to the next day. Currently running a career in the third day now with zero issues, by not changing anything on the aircraft skins. Didn’t change the helmets either, but didn’t test. 2
MrPenguinCZ Posted July 26 Posted July 26 Hi, I would like to share my thougts on the new Commander Career mode with you, as well as reporting a major bug, which makes the game much less enjoyable for me. First of all, I think the devs at 1CGS have done a great job with the whole game. I love the graphics, flight physics (although I have heard DCS is still better most of the time), and so on. The career mode is really something we have all been waiting for, since it is the main game mode in IL2 Korea. The option to manage your whole squadron, men, aircraft, is just great. But not only that, I also find really fun to manage recources and planning missions not to waste them and use them efficiently. It is for sure done much much better than in Great Battles. But there is one Big BUT I have encountered: Planes are just disapearing from the squadron mananement section. It usually happenes after a mission where a plane has been lost or damaged. It does not happen always, thankfully. In picture 2 and 3, you can see that all my planes are currently operable and ready to fly and not unassigned. The menu shows both "ready for takeoff" and "total number" is 24. But you can also see that there are two slots free and no planes with pilots are asigned to "section 12". That means I have a total of 22 aircraft. On picture 1, the main menu, it shows the correct numbers and even shows the two aircraft are not there. Picture 4 shows the recources management menu, where, on the contrary, it shows 24 aircaft are in my inventory, therefore it is impossible to "order" any aircraft, therefor I am stuck with 22 aircraft for the whole duration of the career. Even worse, I played a little more, and another 1 has disapeared. The way it happenes is either when I "deactivate" a wounded pilot with a damaged airplane (separating them) and after I reopen the sq. management the plane is missing, or when I open the sq. management for the first time after a mission, it separates two pilots from their planes, but only one plane is shown. In the second case, both the pilots and the plane are still in the "Combat units in service" section, but separately. I find it very frustrating, even though everything else works just fine. I made a reddit post and have been told to put this here.
