Valis Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I'm trying to imagine a Kamikaze attack on the Intrepid and the LOAD is anything less than 1000%.

Clod is now owned by a completely separate company now. So that almost certainly no longer applies. Now that 1C can model large formations of bombers they are almost certain to do BoB some day. 1 1 1

Turbo-Mouse Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Wasn't expecting to see early helicopters implemented. With all this effort modelling jets and helicopters, it would be a shame not see another jet focused module at some point down the line if all goes well. If not Vietnam then could be set between 1956-1964 period, maybe an alternate history Falcon 4.0 style conflict, would be great to see the century series fighters or MiG-19, MiG-21, Su-9 etc appear in IL-2. 1

Or an AI transformation of existing art? I've removed it on the simple grounds that the official forums shouldn't have art for fake products (especially when the art has lots of technical and historical inaccuracies). Captain_Trips Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Another issue you shouldn't ignore, is the flightsim community sentiment. A lot of people are rooting for a flightsim underdog trying to get started. Suddenly diving into the same theatre might look like predatory behavior. That is going to force people to take sides. It would almost certainly lose you a certain percentage of sales and create friction you didn't need to. That might not be a good look for you given the world we live in. You really don't need the bad optics. Edited September 8 by Captain_Trips 1

This would require more up front work on flyable aircraft, but opens up the most DLC opportunities using the same map. I'd definitely tend to prefer the Philippines to Okinawa. New Guinea is also very promising. Doing Guadalcanal and the western Solomons campaign would also be quite good. I'm not an expert on the Pacific by any means - so I'm quite open to being influenced in the ranking. I do want to see a Ki-43 and Ki-61... as well as underwing gunpods for the SBD, rockets/strafer configurations for the B-25; rockets for the TBF... and I'm also quite open to having a few Commonwealth aircraft in the mix... so if you want to bias me... those are the things that'd move me the most. 11 minutes ago, Captain_Trips said: Here ya go: Ba. bump-pa baa bump-pa bumb-pa baa bump-pa-baaaaaa bump-pa-baaaaaa-ba-baaaaa bump-ba! ba! ... ... ... 1

As long as both 1CGS and CP give us good quality content and have their own unique strengths to them instead of copycatting (If you want X get Pacific, if you want Y get CP), and there’s no ill-informed badmouthing of the other team’s game by the developers then there’s no issue with two teams doing the Pacific. Uther Posted September 8 Posted September 8 This discussion is getting tedious. Can't we just enjoy what we have now. 10 9800X3D / Asus Radeon RX 7900 XT TUF OC / Corsair Vengeance EXPO 64GB / W11
Enceladus828 Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Agree we should just be glad that somebody decided to properly explore the Korean War in 27 years and will finally tackle the Pacific with areas and flyable aircraft not in PF and IL-2 1946 after 20 years. 2 Matthew 6:21, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Nyano Posted September 8 Posted September 8 (edited) Cliffs of Dover development seems to be very slow, DLC Fortresses and Focke Wulfs: Dieppe was announced 3 years ago with a late 2024 release. Now we know this was all too opportunistic, I wonder if it will ever be released. The graphics from this 2011 released sim are quite obsolete now. So Battle of Britain should be an option after Korea I would guess. I hope the next title after Korea will be something like "Fortress Europe" with sky full of B-17's and 1 map including South England, Belgium, NL and large part of Western Germany. I can agree with the first part. I ended up liking Korea a lot more than I was expecting to. I'm not fan of the modern jets in their main competitor. But these fly more like a ME-262 and have a satisfying analog feel. On the second part (that you brought up) well.... You'd like to see them revisit the Pacific, I'd like to see them finally deliver a top shelf Battle of Britain that they didn't achieve the first time. CloD was a blackmark, they have yet to erase. JG14_Jagr Posted September 9 Posted September 9 I think the best course of action would be to take the Korean conflict which has never formerly ended, and play it out as if it continued to be a hot theater, Extend the timeline into the early Cold War. Bring in the evolving plane set that came in right up to the late 50's maybe even early 60's, Use the Korean peninsula and keep improving it 1

The DLC is a step in that direction. A dynamic campaign that allows non historical scenarios would be a leap.. and really fun too! Bold idea. But totally out of 1C games traditional approach. Like, historical one. It is worth to send this idea to the devs. It's like : why nobody thought of it till now???? I haven't. Really out of the box thinking. @JG14_Jagr wow, you've really impressed me. Oreoreeeoyeero!
Husar Posted September 9 Posted September 9 (edited) 14 minutes ago, AndreiTomescu said: . But totally out of 1C games traditional approach Some GB/FC planes or modifications were also "semi-historical" for a given period or theater of war. The MiG-9, yak-23 and Il-28, for example, would be great to have in multiplayer or a dynamic campaign, even if the campaign itself isn't strictly historical. Edited September 9 by Husar
