Blitzen Posted August 12 Posted August 12 13 hours ago, YoYo said: After the release (and in one of the patches before it), more objects appeared on the ground and in airports, which naturally caused a greater FPS loss. There are quite a few reports of this. It's also difficult to compare the IL-2 GB to the IL-2 Korea, as the latter is much more demanding on the computer, so you'll see a significant difference on the same hardware with FPS (as many people). This is due to CPU and GPU processing, although I have a feeling the GPU doesn't have that much of an impact. There's a fairly large thread in this corner (lik below), with some suggestions, but I also have some bad news: an RTX 5060 + VR may not perform as well as you'd like and as it was with IL-2 GB. It's definitely worth trying lowering the settings and enabling DLSS on performance as a first steps. About Microsoft FF joystick I saw this topic: On my Moza AB9 FFB works without issue, but there is no official support in Moza software yet. I'd suggest looking into the 5070Ti (or, if you're on a budget, the 5080), although it doesn't guarantee very good results in IL-2 Korea; you'll definitely have to use DLSS or adjust the resolution. I convinced my neighbor to get the 5070Ti, and he's very happy with DCS and IL-2 GB. I also don't think there's a card on the market right now that can handle Korea 100%, maybe a 6090? 😉 Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.
GiftGruen Posted August 12 Posted August 12 @Blitzen You can calculate +25% framerate - or roughly 10% higher vertical+horizontal render resolution - for a 5080 in comparison to a 5070ti in VR. At least in scenarios which are GPU-bound. A 4080 is comparable to 5070ti. Most important thing for Korea is probably 16Gb vRam. 5070ti/5080/4080 offer this afaik. However … if you dont give informations about your VR hardware and settings, well, this is difficult to give any hints… Rig - RTX5090 + i5-14600KF + Pimax Crystal Light Content - Flying Circus 1-4 + IL2-BoX ( all sceneries ) + IL2-Korea

OAE Posted August 14 Posted August 14 (edited) In DCS, there was a big bug during air to ground missions that they fixed, sometime last year. The bug was an overload in the way DCS calculated and rendered particle effects, even/damage calculations (splash damage) and transparent textures. Every time an explosion or fire occurred, too many objects were damaged at once, which filled up the VRAM and required the graphics card and processor to render complex smoke and flame layers multiple times per eye in VR. They fixed this. It's probably not what's happening in Korea, but it's very similar, I get 22 fps when 3-4 napalm bombs are burning on the ground. Marc_63 Posted August 14 Posted August 14 As far as I’m concerned, I’m giving up on this game until the blurring is sorted out. It’s absolutely dreadful with a Dream Air at medium and long range. I should never have bought it. 1 1 9800X3D, X870E Carbon, Zotac Gaming 5090, 64 Go Ram, Pimax Dream Air

Many options that are obvious to me and have long been known in the simulator world have a significant impact in IL-2 Korea, even though it's the 21st century ;). It turns out that some of them can lower my frame rate by 30% or mutch more (combination of them). While we're seeing a drop in graphics quality, it can be considered a solution for now: 1 Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.
agiorgitis Posted Sunday at 09:05 AM Posted Sunday at 09:05 AM Guys just buy a 5090 and you'll relax. Everything on ultra and it's always 80fps+ . I know it's expensive but it's "pay once, cry once" and you stop wasting your time on adjustments. 1

Biliyorum pahalı ama "bir kere öde, bir kere üzül" mantığıyla hareket ediliyor ve ayarlamalarla vakit kaybetmeyi bırakıyorsun. So you managed to sort everything out with the 5090, right? Yours must be a special edition. Stop selling false hopes. It's a difficult condition to treat. 1
Dustbag1969 Posted Sunday at 10:01 PM Posted Sunday at 10:01 PM Hi, I have the graphics settings on low but I am struggling to achieve frame rates above 50FPS once there is any sizeable dogfight going on. Is this normal for IL2 Korea currently and not I should not expect any higher? I have read some posts saying to the effect of "Get a 5090 and everything runs at Ultra" but I am not seeing this so just curious if I am missing something? Also strangely, I've got OpenComposite running, so if I choose OpenVR...it uses OpenXR...and works. Too many pixels. I am at 0.75 / 72Hz what means more than 3Kx3K pixels per eye and ‚normal‘ fighting situations feel smooth while the image is quite sharp and candy. ( ingame setting: 100% ) Yes. More pixels look even better but cost fps. Edited Monday at 06:14 AM by GiftGruen Rig - RTX5090 + i5-14600KF + Pimax Crystal Light Content - Flying Circus 1-4 + IL2-BoX ( all sceneries ) + IL2-Korea
Dustbag1969 Posted Monday at 10:41 AM Posted Monday at 10:41 AM Hi, I use 72Mhz but i run at 1.0 and have never lowered this. My reasoning being that it felt wrong paying a load of money for a PCL and a 5090 and then making it look like a Reverb G2. I will try 75% and see how it looks 👍
GiftGruen Posted Monday at 10:47 AM Posted Monday at 10:47 AM Well, understand what you mean but 75% is still more than 3x3K so beyond a Reverb 😉 If you switch all ingame eye candy options off, you can probably go somewhat higher. Personally I prefer MSAA, Shadows, Clouds and stuff like this and therefore have to go to 0,75 in Korea ( vs e.g. 0.85 in IL2 GB with MSAAx4 ) Rig - RTX5090 + i5-14600KF + Pimax Crystal Light Content - Flying Circus 1-4 + IL2-BoX ( all sceneries ) + IL2-Korea

Dash,Polder Posted Tuesday at 11:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:22 PM For a pimax if you want to know your exact res in pixels per screen ( as in left resolution: (3042 x 3190), right resolution: (3042 x 3190) numbers format ), you can find it in your Users/your name/ AppData/ Local/ Pimax/ runtime/ pvr_client_IL2Series_log file. Your AppData may be a hidden folder so you need to turn it on in the hidden file and folder setting in your file explorer options in control panel. Only other place we could readily and easily get it was the obsolete openXR toolkit.
