Panzerlang Posted July 25 Posted July 25 NIS in the Super's own settings is a huge FPS gain. It's the difference between 38 and 65 for me. 17 minutes ago, Antonovomatic said: It should be pretty easy to isolate the settings that are actually effecting this purported improvement if someone is so inclined. Or to put it another way, I would be shocked if this isn't just altering one or more settings to a less performance-intensive selection. I think graphics settings that have been played with over different game versions have messed stuff up. Gigabyte Aorus Elite Mobo. No mods. AMD 9800X3D CPU. No mods. RTX 5090 GPU. No mods. 64GB G-Skill RAM at 6000mhz. XMP on. Samsung SSD. Monitor at 3840x2160. Pimax Crystal Super.
YoYo Posted July 25 Posted July 25 (edited) Another interesting FPS benchmark could be Inchon, which also saw significant FPS drops (before 003) and continues to do so (with the addition of ships). This city had a population of around 260,000 in 1950 and was famous for many battles during the Korean War. Leningrad in IL-2 (a rather similar city in terms of location in IL-2 works for me without any FPS drops - constans 72 FPS, and is much larger) had a population of around 1,200,000 in 1945. Be smart here, what causes such FPS drops ? Edited July 25 by YoYo Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.
YoYo Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I finally installed this VectorXR. It solves the problem of small cockpits and has the advantage over Toolkit that it doesn't cause CTD of the entire IL-2 Korea. I created a profile for Korea only and the best result for me is -5.5 in Stereo Depth. 1 Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.

enyak Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Over the course of the early access phase and including the latest update I wasn't able to reach my goal of mostly stable 80fps gameplay with a Quest 3, RTX 4090, 13900k and 128GB DDR5. I am going to shelf IL-2 Korea for now sadly.
GiftGruen Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Did you read / apply all the hints regarding settings within the forum? A rather lowres VR headset like Q3 should work okay with your hardware imho. Except of cities, where we all struggle to get sufficient fps. Rig - RTX5090 + i5-14600KF + Pimax Dream Air Content - Flying Circus 1-4 + IL2-BoX ( all sceneries ) + IL2-Korea
Husar Posted July 25 Posted July 25 1 hour ago, YoYo said: What about online compatibility? Doesn't the server reject player input if file integrity on the server is required? It isn't an injector like ReShade. I was able to play on Combat Box, where injectors are not allowed. 1

Husar Posted July 25 Posted July 25 18 minutes ago, Dash,Polder said: Anything special you have to set inside Korea to run turbo? No, it works without any special settings. Two of my VR friends are using it as well, since OpenXR Toolkit no longer works with IL-2 Korea 1

I've enabled Turbo now, but I've noticed that every so often there's a strange, very brief stutter (once every 5 minutes, for example). I don't know if it's the current run or if Turbo is actually causing it. During this time, the Moza base with FFB loses Force Feedback support for that exact moment. Once I've flown more, I'll see if it's Turbo mode or if it's just a matter of sometimes happening. In the OpenXR Toolkit, Turbo didn't play well with the FFB software for me. NIS is just downsampling with a very minimal and lightweight upscaling pass, without any of the temporal or depth data that DLSS/FSR/XESS have. Almost an identical method and output as adjusting the in-game resolution slider (which may be NIS or CAS anyway since both are hardware-agnostic now) Edit: I strongly advise anyone against trying "Turbo" mode until you have sorted all other settings to a place where you like them. "Turbo" improves frame pacing, not framerate or macrostutters. Edited July 25 by Antonovomatic 1

It seems it is actually related to the FFB not turbo mode. There is a bug report about it on the discord. 1

In DCS, this fixed the issue of ground terrain "skipping" when flying at low altitude and looking sideways while using VDXR. An alternative solution was capping the frame rate to the headset's refresh rate in the NVIDIA driver. There is no such problem in Korea Edited July 25 by Husar

TCW_Brzi_Joe Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I tried it, there in Nvidia is only flat screen limiter. But Riva tunner Statistic server works for VR 🙂

Dash,Polder Posted July 26 Posted July 26 I'd be more concerned in capping the refresh rate of the monitor, it can't be a good thing running a monitor with an output frequency of 165hz or higher and simultaneously outputting a 72 hz freq to a HMD off the same card.

There is zero harm in this, the flatscreen window is just a repeated/mirrored display of the output sent to the HMD. Do you set your refresh rate in windows to 24hz in order to watch movies??
Muas Posted July 26 Posted July 26 My biggest concern in VR at the moment is the gunsight recticle... even at the maximum 'brightness', it is very hard to see it properly, specially with a sky background... Is there any work around for this? Thanks. 2

Maybe someone will make a mod for it sometime? 1 Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.
