Very happy that 1CGS listened to me when I told them to give Growling Sidewinder an EA key!

And here is the link to Tricker's Stream:

I just hope that on June 25 we won't have this annoying inscription?

They said that the beta program will continue even when the EA is released, so the NDA will also continue. Presumably they will first test the new features that are not yet in EA, with the beta testers, like the career mode.

@LukeFF Is the Early Access banner going to be visible on screen throughout the EA period?

Likely so, so that people will understand the game is still under development if video footage of said gameplay is uploaded for others to watch.

Ah, a bit jealous to see all these people giving their first impressions while I'm still under an NDA!

So, I understand this only applies to beta testers, not users who purchased the title? I can't imagine flying with something like this. Back in the day (including the IL-2 BoX), when EA was still around, there was nothing like this. The same goes for other simulators and even games. Please remove this message immediately after the June 25th release for "normal" users. It will look terrible, especially in VR.

There may always be an EA sign in the game menu, but not during gameplay for people who purchased the title ....

It seems that Luke already answered this, and that text is for the EA version, that the partnered content creators already got access to, one week early.

I am not part of the beta program, so I don't know what they do there. I do have quite a bit of experience being a beta and alpha tester for unreleased titles, including some AAA games, and some took measures that went way beyond this, by plastering the entire screen with the account id or name, to discourage people from leaking pictures, since they then could be found and sued. So who knows what the beta testers have to deal with?

For beta testers its ok and EA for testers, but not for EA for users 👍.

It will just be for a month or two. The early access period is expected to be quite short (compared to DCS or even compared to most other games)... more of a role out of additional features as they are polished and QA tested.

Hey guys! Glad you enjoyed my video and others.

I have been doing some AI experiments ( @Leifrcan tell) and there is some great improvements. Need more time to show too 🙂

Also, from Command T.

This is a first look at the fligh model and force feedback implementation of the new IL2 KOREA combat flight simulator. Overall, I'm impressed!

Even if the AI in WOFF, IL-2 1946, and Strike Fighters cheats, I think it is much more immersive from the opponent's perspective.

Maybe for you.  I thought it sucked trying to fight UFO’s. Complete and total immersion killer.

I love these videos.

It makes me nostalgic for the days when I used to be a writer for SimHq and got a chance to demo an, at that time, relatively unknown game while stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  I was one of the first to actually sit down and try out IL2 almost a year before it came out.

I look forward to, even thought I don't virtually fly all that much anymore, the release.  I've got the hard drive space set aside and waiting.

I am preparing a "Ground attack" video, effects of munition and else. Not only on the graphical side, but also on how different ordnances interact with the game world.

From vehicles overturning, wheels flying, complex damage model on them.. even trees can be cut in half with .50 cals.

The details and realism is surely incredible. You can see entry holes of my .50 cals on this truck where I killed the co-pilot. Driver got out.

Ground pounding has become x100 more fun.

Kind regards,

Please also check the effect of Napalm and bombs on trees. I was always annoyed in Il-2 GB that you can carpet bomb an area and trees were completely untouched.

Hi! Yes trees go down and are affected by the bombs, blast and even Napalm. Even napalm damages buildings and they get destroyed. The effects can be seen from very far away.

Nice, I hope the mission editor will have an option that allows mission designers to add destruction to the map.

Although I'm not sure the trees catch on fire. But they can get blown down by the damage (which I think is good enough - if given a choice between DCS where a few select trees can be ignited and Korea where trees can be dynamically blown over by the calculated forces of impacts - either from bombs or from collisions - I'd go with the latter).
