Got it up to about 1,000 kph (which is actually a little faster than I was going in the Sabre), full aft stick, and... nothing. I mean, eventually I blacked out, but no wing failure--the airframe didn't even creak. The MiG doesn't have a G-meter in the cockpit, as far as I can tell, but I was wearing the optional G-suit that is supposed to increase the pilot's G tolerance to 8+ Gs, and I passed out, so I'm guessing I was probably pulling more than 7 Gs. I tried going again and jerking the stick back instead of pulling gently, but again: nothing. So, something is definitely off with the Sabre, and I'd even go so far as to say that the MiG is probably the superior turn fighter at the moment, simply because it can turn without self-destructing. Hopefully this gets fixed. The MiG-15Bis does have an accelerometer 🙂

The pedals in the cockpit move, the nose gear does too, the rudder doesn't move, and the plane doesn't respond to the rudder. The bug appears constantly in both Quick Takeoff and Career. Everything works fine on other planes; the axis is visible in the control settings, and the indicator behind the axis also moves. Me too...exactly this. I posted in the Bug Section of Discord under this topic, hopefully they will run down this problem soon.
Varibraun Posted August 12 Posted August 12 I know this has already been reported on Discord and in the F-86 thread, but didn't see it reported in this section. Bert_Foster Posted August 20 Posted August 20 What is the strange floating extra horizon line on the f86A AH ??
Bert_Foster Posted August 21 Posted August 21 The F86 Nose wheel steering is working as a toggle either on or off. IRL it required the nose wheel steering button to be held depressed, as soon as it was released NWS was deactivated. 1

In the F-100, it works on an on/off basis, so it requires pressing twice, however, in the F-86, it works on a Hold NWS button. +1 Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. Bert_Foster Posted August 21 Posted August 21 (edited) F86 Flap Operation IRL The Default or neutral position of the flap lever is the centre "HOLD" position. To move the flap the lever is taken out of the HOLD position and moved in the direction of desired flap travel. If placed in the HOLD position the flaps will then stop at the current position. This is more or less how it works in game. using the default LSHF+F and LCTL+F keybindings. However if you use these to run the flaps fully up or fully down at the completion of the cycle the flap lever stays at the UP or DOWN position. In reality the pilot would return the lever to the HOLD position at the completion of flap movement. So in the game the lever should spring back to HOLD after the Flaps are fully UP or fully DOWN. Or provide a flaps HOLD Keybinding. Edited August 22 by Bert_Foster 1
Bert_Foster Posted August 21 Posted August 21 How do you you turn the Fuel Drop Tank pressurization switch on in the F86A ... Keybinding ?

Bert_Foster Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Are you saying you can configure it as only working if held depressed ? if so how ?

Bert_Foster Posted August 23 Posted August 23 F86 FUEL SYSTEM At present this is how it seems to work when carrying drop tanks. the Drop tank pressurization switch on the left console is inoperative, no keybinding exists to turn it on. So after start the Fuselage gauge starts dropping until 300 gall mark at this point it stops as fuel from the drop tanks commences. It stays at 300gall mark until the drop tanks are empty, the gauge then starts dropping as internal fuel is consumed. THIS IS INCORRECT How it should work (Flt manual source) If the drop tank pressurization switch is in OFF no fuel transfer from the drop tanks will occur. To Feed drop tank fuel drop tank pressurization switch must be selected ON. After around 5US gall of fuel consumed in fuselage tank, fuel from drop tanks commences. Fuel gauge will indicate full. once Drop tank fuel is used the fuel gauge will start to drop as internal fuel is now consumed.
Husar Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Can we have a control for adjusting seat elevation (this plane as well other had a seat vertical adjustment lever) ? 1

Raise camera with keys or head tracking and press F10. Camera position will be saved for this plane. Do it on other planes... This feature was here since ROF

This feature was here since ROF Nope, it's not the same thing but might have the same visual effect. Saving new default view while approaching runway would get you killed and after landing changing again new default view would be cumbersome also.
GrumpyGnome Posted August 24 Posted August 24 Change 1 of the snap views to reflect a seat elevation change.

Bert_Foster Posted August 24 Posted August 24 In the meantime perhaps correct the indications of Drop tank feeding in the F86. That is Fuel Qty guage should indicate Full during transfer and only start reducing once Drop tank fuel/transfer is complete.

Thanks 'Bert_Foster' for pointing this out regarding the fuel pressurization switch in the F-86 not functioning - I was just about to do the same. With no fuel transfer from the drop tanks occurring as the main tanks get lower this gives the F-86A a big disadvantage, especially flying the long distance from Suwon up to the Yalu River and back. When the Sabre's reach Pyongyang and then onto the Yalu, if they make contact with the Migs and drop their wings tanks, they may lose whatever fuel is left in their drop tanks which hadn't been transferred. This situation reduces their combat radius and causes a 'bingo fuel' situation to come up much quicker, forcing them to return to Suwon with Migs chasing them? 'LukeFF' I am sure you have to have a look at this situation with the F-86A because it is not historically accurate, giving the Sabre a disadvantage during combat in the game. I have just posted a single mission 'DF_F-86A_fighter sweep over_Pyongyang_and the Yalu River' which brings out this situation. During the testing of this mission, I shot down a Mig, then discovered I was just past 'Bingo fuel'. I had to make a 'dead stick' landing at Kimpo air base, after running out of fuel, which luckily was successful! DFLion

I cant find a single reference saying that the F86 was prone to structural failure at high speeds, yet often in game the sabre will lose one or more wings performing any kind of bank or climb above 450. Is it something to do with the leading edge slats deploying and providing more lift and hence G-Loads? It isnt consistant, sometimes you are fine other times a merest touch of the stick and you break your wings off. Any progress or indication from the devs about this issue? I was just trying the bomber intercept mission with the Saber yesterday while testing some of my VR settings, but three times in a row my Saber shed her wings just doing a lazy shallow turn towards the bomber formation at around 400-450 mph (or knots - whatever the airspeed indicator is measured in). The weird part is that I have been throwing the Saber around much more radically during my free-flight solo testing (up to and including blacking out a few times) without any hint of problems, but in that bomber intercept mission the Saber's wings kept coming off during the most gentle of turns without ever causing my pilot to even start breathing hard or graying out at all. 1 Ryzen 7 9850X3D 4.7GHz, RTX 5090, ASUS X870 Board, 64GB DDR5 RAM 6000, HP Reverb G2, Windows 11

I’ve also noticed wings being torn off at those speeds, even without excessive G-load on multiplayer mode. 2
