Here’s my Fiat CR-32 WIP

It is a SMER (Artiplast) 1/50 “kit” …and I've been wanting to add a 1/48 CR-32 to my collection for a while, so I dug deep into the enormous pile of sin that continues to grow like a metastasis despite my best efforts to reduce it. THERE IT IS, COVERED IN DUST! Fully aware of the tough modeling battle that awaited me, I opened the box. Secretly, I hoped the memory of that sprue would be worse than the reality. I was wrong. A handful of shapeless and poorly printed pieces of plastic, drowned in a sea of flashes and sink marks.

Long story short, I took a trip with this time machine and it was the right opportunity to dust off old skills with heavy machine shop tools rather than sophisticated modern modeling instruments. Now that I finally glimpse the end of this adventure I can confess that between one curse and another I had as much fun as I did when I was 11 years old or so. Now only the last details are missing, some tie rods and a scratchbuit windshield to consider this model finished. Is it perfect? Certainly NOT! Will it win any contests or group builds? ABSOLUTELY NOT! And, after all, this was certainly not my goal, however, to my eyes it seems to vaguely resemble a Fiat CR-32 and therefore it will proudly go on display alongside its 1/48 brothers from the "Regia Aeronautica"

For those who want to try their luck with a SMER kit, a side note: The PROPAGTEAM decals provided are printed decently, with saturated colors and in register . They react perfectly to Micro-Set and Micro-Sol, but they are extremely thin and therefore very difficult to position correctly without destroying them. If you succeed, they will reward you with a perfect painted look.
