I'm doing the patinas with oils to break up the constant RLM76 color and, of course, creating the oil spills from flight or speed. Spoiler I hope you like the result. It still needs some work with oils and pencils to create depth and a few scratches, but less and less. If all goes well, I'll start a new project on Tuesday. FW190A-? I won't be able to show these FW190 works. 3 1
SARFlytitus Posted May 17 Author Posted May 17 @XQ_Lothar29 Meraviglioso !!! As usual Great weathering on a gorgeous model of a beautyful plane !😉 1
HootsButOlder Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Slow progress on the Bireme mainly due to all the compound curves at bow and stern being a pain in the backside and also carving and fairing in the ramming prow. That and life getting in the way of course. Anyway, starting to look like a boat at last, the front and back are to be sealed and painted so the less than perfect planking won't be too much of an issue (apart from for me as I know it's there). 10 2
Voncrapenhauser Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Been a while, but an update on Mad Max. Chassis almost complete, interior on it's way now, more to follow soon I hope. 5

XQ_Lothar29 Posted June 9 Posted June 9 (edited) I've seen some incredible work today. I'm here to finally present the finished Bf109G14/AS, and I say "damned" because I work with great care, but this start to the year has been terribly bad. But the important thing is that I've managed to finish it and I can now move on to much more important and interesting topics, for me and... I'll leave it at that, with the intrigue. I just hope you like the result. Bf109G-14/AS. W.Nr.784986 Flown by Ofw "Oberfeldwebel" Paul Schwerdtfeger, 11./JG6 Bissel Germany. TheNappingMan Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Now that Korea is out in Early Access, are y'all the reason I can't find the Sword 1/72 F-80C at a reasonable price? 😁 I've got an F-86A, F-84E, and the F-51D ready to built. Just missing the Shooting Star.
SARFlytitus Posted Thursday at 05:57 PM Author Posted Thursday at 05:57 PM ...And finally the mountain has given birth to a mouse (even if it looks more like a wildcat). The HobbyBoss F4F-3 Early is an honest kit with some nice features and others that are a little less so. The connection between the wings and the fuselage is certainly not Tamigawa-like, and the instructions are a bit confusing when assembling the complex landing gear. Construction was out of the box, apart from adding the antenna wires , seat belts from scratch and replacing the gun barrels with tubes of adequate diameter. The decals are fantastic in terms of thickness and reacted perfectly to Microset and Microsol. I didn't use the yellow diagonal identification bands on the wings or the yellow band for the cowling and fuselage because they were the wrong color and I was afraid they wouldn't match the curvature well. I masked and painted them, even though the result isn't perfect. In the end, I had fun and was able to add another pair of yellow wings to my collection. Hope you like it 😉 9

I want it in case I want to do a future project! For now, I can't give you any advice because I think it's beautiful, but for next time, with a color like XF-78 Wooden Deck Tan, dissolve a very small drop in rubbing alcohol, give the plane an even coat, including the windows, and it will give it a powdery effect. But don't do anything to this one! It's stunning. I won't be able to show you the projects I'm going to do for now; you'll find out why later, but it's for a really great reason, and I assure you it won't disappoint.
