Aircraft list (and possible additions, in historical context)

Skyraider might entice a few DCS players, seeing that the one in development got nixed.

I wonder if the teams will do the British and Australia navy Aircraft's like the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 and Fairey Firefly Mk.V with their carriers like HMS Ocean and HMAS Sydney in a future?.

The Skyraider simply has to be there, we have the IL-10 platform, so there must also be an AD-2 as well. 💪😊

In one of the old Briefing Room episodes the question was asked - and some enthusiasm was shown for the Sea Fury... so it would seem possible. The Firefly seems much less likely (although I definitely feel it should be present as at least an AI aircraft or static object on carrier decks). The chances for a Meteor F.8 and Seafire is even harder to guess at. A lot probably depends on how well the sim does and how quickly they feel they should move on to the next theatre.

The Seafire Fr.47 is a bit early, being withdrawn shortly after the Incheon landings, but they were used extensively for armed reconnaissance up and down both coasts - so unlike most 1950 types... a scripted campaign could be made for it without needing to extend the map.

We need an allied bomber, preferably the A-26 Invader.

Would be great to have a flyable aircraft with two engines instead of one.

It works in IL-2GB and even in FC, why not here?

I mean, that sounds wonderful, but I suspect the list will probably go something like:

Corsair (Maybe two variants...U-4, and U-4E night fighter),

Panther (F9F-5),

Banshee?

Skyraider?

La-9?

I just suspect that the twin engine attackers/bombers are going to be a little longer in development.

My assumption has long been that it would be all navy aircraft, but I hope if the Seafire comes it isn't the only FAA aircraft added, I feel like if we get the one, a British carrier and the Firefly would be needed to not half bake it.

If it is all US aircraft, could do the Panther, Corsair, Banshee, Skyraider, but I don't know what a 5th USN/USMC would be without adding other major elements like air intercept radar.

I'd love to see planes with functioning radar, but currently there's a significant problem with the appearance of nighttime. This leaves much to be desired. I don't have the good lighting, proper reflections, for example, on clouds, or proper nighttime lighting from the night sky and moon. This makes nighttime even unplayable. I hope they fix this, and then I'll ask for planes with radar; that could be a fun and interesting playgame. 👍

It's possible that the Mythical Five aircraft may not be all-new types. Late model Sabre (E/F), early model MiG-15 - both seem obvious choices and there's two out of five already.

That said, there's nothing to say that five DLC aircraft is the limit.

I agree to this too. It would be nice to have.

True to that. I would like to see more variants of the F-86, namely the F-86E and F-86F.

I would love to get an F8F Bearcat, but did it appear in Korea?

Yes, that true, F8F was used by French (Vietnam) however Id like to see him as DLC as well. +1

Of the planes I'd really like to see, the F7F-3N would be perfect. With a working radar, of course. This would be a nice change from IL-2 Korea. I'm really hoping we'll finally get a DLC with some kind of radar here. The only requirement is that they fix the nighttime lightning and textures in the IL-2 Korea and finally get good lighting and a nighttime look. Right now (especially in VR), it looks downright awful. Night missions are pointless as they are now.

Do we know whether the F4U initially released will be the 4 or 4B? Would be a shame not to have the version with 20mm since so many of the other American aircraft (all.. so far) are 50cal.

Any possibility for a MiG-15A? Was the original model used in Korea?
