Would really only work in multiplayer where you could spot ground targets for other aircraft. It would have very little use in single player. I do think they is a place for them in the game, but something has to be created for them. Perhaps the ability to pick up troops or rescue pilots?

Helicopters would be a new thing altogether for the IL-2 dev team to work on. I'd like to see them try though.

I know it's too early to ask about this, and a quick search netted no answer - probably for that reason, however..

A big part of the conflict involved several US Navy carriers and squadrons and I'm wondering if at some point down the road - there might

be a move toward creating a module or addon that includes that half of the campaign?

The DLC aircraft that are listed in the enhanced edition are strongly suspected to be Naval, as the devs have discussed wanting to include carrier ops, shown a promo image with an Essex in the background, and listed the F4U-4 in old dev materials back around the initial announcement. Along with that, some of the early career mode screen shots show the F9F listed as a squadron aircraft.

As of today, we've already had a delay, as Q2 has passed and the DLC hasn't been announced. We should get the EA DLC in Q3, and the release of DLC is scheduled for Q4. A delay is possible, as the full release has already been pushed back a month to August 4th. However, although it was never officially announced, the DLC and "new game format" (from e.g. Founder's Edition) are rumored to include the aircraft carrier and carrier-based planes. We'll have to wait. It's possible the DLC will be announced after the launch, in August I suppose.

Correct - conceived in 1952 but not in service at all until 58' or 59' 

Not many people know the type at all, aside from the fact that one shot itself down by flying through its own bullets..

Depends on variant of 15, it could have boosters as mod as late production base 15s had less powerful aileron boosters than in BIS. 
Also ingame BIS even without airbrake mod that adds stronger wings, already flies like its wings are strenghtened and it doesnt represent early production bis variant whatsoever, its 1951 production variant. So technically base 15 should encounter roll issues already at around 860km/h indicated or mach 0,85 and would differ significantly in high speed performance to current BIS.

Would anyone like to see a Gloster Meteor F.8 for Korea? Australia committed some to the Korean War but they soon found out they were no match for the MiG-15; so the Meteors were relegated to ground attack roles and they proved to be very successful there.

I never really had much interest on the Korean War, but I have been playing Il2 GB since the release of Battle of Stalingrad on Steam.

I am currently pondering - It feels like the pool of planes and variety that we'll have access to will lean heavily towards Bluefor (and I usually don't play Bluefor so I am more interested to see what the Soviet Union / China / North Korea will have access to.)

Based on what I could read online, Redfor pool will be limited to the Yak-9, Il-10, La-11, Mig-15, La-9 and Tu-2?

If Redfor gets new vehicles in the future, do ya'll think we'll get non-historical ones?

Il2 GB always have added a symmetrical number of vehicles for both sides, which is what made me start this thread.

In a way, I am just rambling about it, although I would like to hear people's opinions.

I realize it's mostly carrier based (in itself that could be a fun development), but there were also some ground based ops with panthers.. I have been fascinated by this aircraft from a young age, seeing it in a specific comics series...  Just curious. Very happy with what we got, just wondering.. Same about the Skyraider...  Are there plans ? I can wait ! Happy to pay for extra planes like we did in Great battles..

Regarding the Skyraider - there are three unannounced planes in the DLC (along with the F4U-4 and F9F-2)... so we can hope that it will be one of them.
