Pretty sure it is just a technochat message, and you see the hat move on cyclic when adjusting F80. Unless someone else can chime in that knows something else.

Some planes use the manual trimming control keys, others use servo trimming controls. You need to map the servo trimming controls to the same keys/buttons as the manual ones.

I did this, and no trim response.  Where is the trim indicator in the F-80 cockpit so I can see it moving?

Big button on the upper part of the stick is the elevator trim. Also there is green light when elevator trim at neutral position, its at the front panel near stick. And all aircrafts have detailed cockpit description at museum section.
