Brakes are crap. I have both toe brakes and an overall brake configured and nada. Might be a Russian thing but woefully underpowered.

Mind you, as a Russian plane, It doesn't have toe brakes. Uses brake lever on the stick instead, combined with rudder to create differential braking.

Agreed. User error on my behalf. Mapped as suggested and semi functioning brakes.

Is the IKO-42 bearing indicator working? For me it doesn't do anything, although I've placed beacons on the map.

Anyone notice that AI Yaks seem to have their engines seize up more since the update?

Any tips for take-off and landing? I tend to lose the propeller if I lift the tail (instead of doing a three-pointer).

Don't lift the tail. When taking off lock tail wheel (pull back stick) until you are 150 km/h, then set stick neutral, and when you are 200-210 km/h pull stick back a little.

Just me or do you find this plane quite "wobbly"? Much more so than any of the other props which I find very controlable.

Yep, always. In some minutes after takeoff engine stops working. No overheating, no weird sound, just get stucked. I have read the manual but no info what regimes shoud keep (rpm, ata, etc). Maybe it is a bug, idk. It would be good to have a page with the plane data like in Il2 BoX, where you can find the most important plane info in the briefing tab.

@airsheep_VR I had the problem of the engine stopping for no reason I could figure out also. My last couple of flights, before takeoff I have lowered the mixture from 100% to around 80% to 90%. This seems to have eliminated the problem. At least in the 3 or so flight I flew last yesterday.

Interesring, because I always set the mixture about 50-60% until it won't smoke. It comes from Il2 BoX. But still has engine stopping.

AI Yak-9 engines die within 60 seconds of skirmish spawn.

I've attached the mission file, but the TRK is 50mb(!)

The Yak is a mere log compared to the BzS Yak. The Mustang, which is a ton heavier, twists the Yak around like a baby! What's going on?!

This yak is heavier, it has to carry more fuel, fuel tanks, new engine, equipment and correct me if wrong but the cooling system seems upgraded to cope with the increased power.
