Blitzen Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Ok everything downloads and the sim starts but after I've entered my email and password ( same as Great Battles,) I get this popup what gives and what can I do? CPU: i7-14700F RAM: iBuyPower 2x16GB 5200MT/s SSD: WD Green SN 3000 1TB NVMe GPU: Nvidia RTX 5060
Monksilver Posted June 24 Posted June 24 @Blitzen All you do is wait. The connection isn't available until EA goes live tomorrow. Today we can only download so as to be ready to fly tomorrow.
76.IAP-Black Posted June 24 Posted June 24 (edited) I have noticed 2 issues for the login screen 1. i can't enter my email address, the menue doesnt allow to type the letter "x" into the E-Mail field 2. when you enter the password just a little bit slower, the whole password is "marked" and is rewriten by the next part of your entry. But solved 1. Problem, by copy and paste of my email adress Edited June 24 by 76.IAP-Black 2

(btw, I use Edge) Its downloading individual files, not a full single flat file. So you're seeing speeds as each file is downloaded which rarely gets to full download speed before that file is completed and the next one begins. If it were a single flat file, you'd see much higher speeds reported. This download isn't slow by any stretch of the imagination. Edited June 24 by FuriousMeow

Many games allow players to download the client in advance, but do not allow login or access to the servers until the official start time. In that case, the launcher or game may show something like “Server is not available now” or a similar message. Ok ...I'll quit trying ,I guess....sigh... 2 hours ago, Monksilver said: @Blitzen All you do is wait. The connection isn't available until EA goes live tomorrow. JediMaster Posted June 24 Posted June 24 Sad this wasn't on Steam, so many others have managed EA through Steam... I got the Korea_IL2Series_Installer.exe and ran it, it created an Il2Series folder with a launcher.exe and other files in it. So far so good. Click THAT and then I get constant errors. Mostly wget unable to resolve host address s3.il2korea.com with support and restart buttons. I've managed to get about 6GB so far but it keeps failing and stopping.

It's also a big assumption that most players would have experience with preloads. Especially (combat) flight sim players may not buy many or any AAA games. MSFS 2024 only allowed the predownload of the launcher, not the actual game. And DCS was released in 2008 and even those who played it right from launch have probably forgotten whether it had a predownload or not. I personally also almost never preorder games, and this was one of the few exceptions.

cunumdrum Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Great idea letting us preinstall before the game goes live. It'll take some pressure of their servers. I'm ready to go!
MaximumLarry Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Just curious, my download is taking almost all day. I get 130mbps from my internet provider but my Founders Edition is downloading at an average .30 MB/s. I am used to long updates with DCS but this is the longest one ever. Is this normal?
Bakerino Posted June 25 Posted June 25 I don't know if I misread the launch times or if I'm just too sleep deprived to notice; but I still can't seem to get in game, even though it's now almost 5 AM CST. I had thought it was releasing at 4 AM my time, but I could just be wrong.
Riderocket Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Here we go 1 Intel i7-10700, NVIDIA RTX 4070, 32 GB RAM, 2TB NVMe, Thrustmaster Warthog Joystick, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle, Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals, Quest 3.
MajorMagee Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Just took 13 minutes to download here. Service To The Line, On The Line, On Time! 9800X3D, 64 GB DDR5, RTX 5070-Ti 1024 GB/s @ 2700 MHz 0.85V, Calibrated 8 bit IPS 3440x1440 @ 100Hz
cunumdrum Posted June 25 Posted June 25 So where are the 6 additional aircraft? or are coming later? 1
PaperPilot Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Looking forwards to downloading it off of Steam. Though those who want to will have to wait until August 5th. 1
Spitfire1964 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Everything works! The initial battles plunge you right into the action! However, VR is very demanding; I have an RTX 5080 and 64GB of RAM, and it glitches with DLSS enabled. All those graphics settings need to be tweaked.
Hopper64 Posted June 25 Posted June 25 (edited) I'm getting this server overloaded error when I try to download korea. Edited June 25 by Hopper64
