Why over cities the cpu (9700x) works like a charm, no drop, and when over the bombers it goes 90-drops till 50-up again at 80-drops at 60+-climbs at 90-stays at 90, despite the fact that I still chasing those big fat ladies ?? I have been using capframex to try to get to the bottom of it. My guess is in flatscreen it is still very playable over cities vs vr. But it also isn't as bad as heavy ai bomber mission. My guess is that all of the ai is calculated on a single thread, or potentially in the bombers there is also all the physics of eaxh bullet... cities it probably has to do with shadow calculations for each buildings and the amount of polygons the cpu jeeds to prepare- which is a lot of work, but not tye same kinds of calculations involved in 60 plus ai planes.

When I run them I eventually get a VRAM warning. But, I have the FPS set to 80 and it never goes below 80 even in crowded skies so you should be fine Thank you JG14_Jagr. A light on the horizon 🙂

I had thought/read somewhere that they were optimizing the AI for Korea to be less cpu-intensive by not modeling every crew position, etc? I also thought the AI was going to be approached differently (using simplified flight model away from player's mission) to allow for bigger formations? Seems like it still isn't well-optimized; yes it is Early Access but it seems like Cliffs of Dover again regarding performance (particularly in VR).
FuriousMeow Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago The B29 has a second simplifiedFM/DM, it also has a detailed FM/DM. That can allow larger formations. I don't know what's used in the black thursday mission. This is nothing like Cliffs of Dover.

Clod was unplayable at release. Completely and totally unplayable. There are plenty of people playing this game right now. Just stop.
Valis Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Just got back from online and it ran perfectly - even in a flak-ridden furball it ran very smooth. If the devs can reproduce that performance but with AI instead of humans I'll be over the moon.
MajorMagee Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago (edited) The real thing landing on the field next to my office last week. Put 60-100 ai aircraft in a mission in GB and see what happens.
