VISHNU Posted October 15 Posted October 15 I'm not entirely sure if you've seen this before....please ignore if you have. This error is only happening to one of my careers. All the others are fine.
hjbb1975 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Hi, at some point in career mode, you must have had a couple of missions that failed, which is why it says that two weren't logged. I'm getting the same message in one of the career modes—there were two missions that the crew on duty fought in, but they failed.
Arrow_1974 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 (edited) Hi @VISHNU, no need to apologize, it's a fair question, and the message is about the game, not your installation. The game build of 29 September had a bug: for every mission flown on it, the game saved the mission itself, the awards and the pilots' totals, but threw away the per-sortie flight records. The hotfix of 2 October fixed it. That's why only one career is affected: it's the one you played during those days. Service Record can put those sorties back by itself (from version 2.2.0 on). It rebuilds them from the mission debrief the game did keep, after making a backup of the career file. Please try this: Update to the latest version (2.7.0). You can check your version on the start page of the Service Record, next to the title. Update from the Update page in the Career Helper, or download it from the link in the first post. Close IL-2 completely. While the game is running, the career file is locked and the repair can't write to it. Open Service Record and open that career again. If the message is gone, the two sorties have been restored. If it's still there, those two missions don't have the debrief data needed to rebuild them, for example because they were ended early. In that case they can't be restored, but nothing else in the career is affected: your awards, promotions, totals and all other missions are complete and correct. Arrow_1974 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 (edited) IL-2 Korea Service Record 2.7.0 — the Operations Room Gentlemen, 2.7.0 gives the Service Record a second face. The paper record stays exactly as it was; next to it there is now the Operations Room, a dark layout that puts everything you open the record for on one screen. NEW: THE OPERATIONS ROOM Choose "Operations Room" under "Layout" in the bar at the top. The change is immediate, and Service Record opens in the layout you chose last time. Switch back to "Classic" whenever you like. The first screen, without a click: - The pilot: photograph, rank, name, squadron emblem and status, the ribbon rack, birth date, health, efficiency and the three characteristics, with sorties, flying hours, air victories, ground targets and awards in large figures. - The latest mission: type, date, result, aircraft, loadout and the targets hit, beside a small map with the briefed route, the target, the kills, the track you actually flew, losses and the front line. - The flight: everyone who flew that mission, with their aircraft, time and result. - The last five sorties, and the latest events of the career: decorations, promotions, wounds, aircraft lost, pilots killed or missing. - What comes next: the next promotion and the two awards you are closest to, with progress bars. - The squadron: pilots active, in reserve, wounded and lost; aircraft serviceable, in repair, in reserve and written off; fuel, ordnance and equipment. Everything on it opens something: - A mission opens its combat report; the small map opens the operations map with that sortie drawn bold. - A pilot opens their details; a medal, rank or the squadron emblem opens its description, a decoration with its citation and certificate. - The ribbon rack opens the tunic. - Sorties and flying hours open the flight record. - The pilot counts filter the squadron table to those pilots ("Showing: Lost ×" clears it). - The document buttons along the top open the biography, flight record, personnel file, combat report, airframe record, squadron portrait, war diary and Pilot's Notes, as before. Below it, everything else the record holds sits in six folders, one open at a time: Missions & map, Combat, Awards, Squadron, Aircraft & supply, and Service log. Click the open folder's tab again to close it. Service Record remembers which one you had open. In the Operations Room the start page, the operations map, the pop-up windows and the bars of the document pages are dark too. The documents themselves - forms, diary, files, certificates - stay on paper. The Classic layout is unchanged. Arrow_1974 Posted October 17 Author Posted October 17 @hjbb1975 Hi Héctor, thank you for the screenshot, and sorry: that one is my fault, not your installation's. The installer is fine and properly signed. The bug is in the updater of 2.6.1: before installing, it checks that the new installer was signed by the same publisher as the program you're running, and in 2.6.1 it looks for "the program you're running" in the wrong place (a python.exe that doesn't exist). So it refuses every update. Please update by hand this once: Close the Career Helper and Service Record. Download the installer from the release page: https://github.com/1-Arrow-1/IL2-Korea_Service_Record/releases/latest (IL2_Korea_Service_Record_Setup_v….exe) Run it. It installs over your current version and keeps your settings and photos. The next version fixes the updater, so from then on updating from the Career Helper works again. Arrow_1974 Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 (edited) IL-2 Korea Service Record 2.7.1 — updater fix, dark Career Helper Gentlemen, IMPORTANT FOR 2.6.1 AND 2.7.0: PLEASE UPDATE BY HAND ONCE The updater in 2.6.1 and 2.7.0 has a bug: it refuses every update with "The installer does not have a valid Authenticode signature ... python.exe was not found". The installer is fine and properly signed; the updater looked for its own program file in the wrong place. If you are on 2.6.1 or 2.7.0 (the version is shown next to the title on the start page of Service Record), please install 2.7.1 by hand: 1. Close the Career Helper and Service Record. 2. Download the installer from the link below. 3. Run it. It installs over your current version and keeps your settings and photos. From 2.7.1 on, the Update page in the Career Helper works again. CAREER HELPER IN THE OPERATIONS ROOM - When Service Record is set to the Operations Room layout, the Career Helper opens in the same dark look, title bar included. In the Classic layout it stays as it was. It follows the setting when it starts. THE "MISSING FLIGHT RECORDS" MESSAGE - The message for careers flown on the game build of 29 September now says what happened and what to do. That build saved those missions without their flight records; the game update of 2 October fixed it. Service Record restores the records from the mission debriefings by itself: close IL-2 and open the career again. If the message stays, those missions have no debriefing to restore them from, and nothing else in the career is affected. OTHER CHANGES - The pilot status stamps in the squadron table have been redrawn. Arrow_1974 Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 (edited) IL-2 Korea Service Record 2.7.2 — mess dress, new promotion thresholds Gentlemen, 2.7.2 dresses Air Force pilots for the evening, re-sets the promotion and unit citation thresholds, and repairs the "stock promotions" option of the awards mod. NEW: USAF MESS DRESS Click the ribbon rack to open the tunic. Air Force pilots now have a third dress beside service and full dress: the mess jacket, the formal evening uniform. - Miniature medals over the left breast, each with the pilot's own oak leaf clusters, V and service stars. - Four to a row and no more than four rows. With more than sixteen, the rows take a fifth medal from the bottom up, slightly overlapping. - The rank in gold braid on the sleeves, for every rank up to Major General. - The Medal of Honor at the neck, under the bow tie. - No ribbons, unit citations or badges, as with the real uniform. AWARDS MOD: PROMOTIONS AND UNIT CITATIONS Since Service Record takes the napalm phantom kills back out of the career, the career points (PCP) that promotions need grow far more slowly, and the old thresholds were set too high for the honest figure. An AI pilot earns only one to one and a half points a sortie: after 158 missions my own squadron had one Captain and nobody above him. - Promotions now need 55 / 120 / 200 / 350 / 550 / 850 / 1250 PCP (was 55 / 150 / 250 / 400 / 650 / 1000 / 1500). A good AI pilot now reaches Captain around his 90th sortie and Major around his 150th. The step to Major General needs 350 career days (was 300). - Distinguished Unit Citation and Navy Presidential Unit Citation: the surface-target route now needs 1300 / 3000 / 6000 / 10000 squadron kills (was 3000 / 8000 / 14000 / 21000). Those numbers had been measured on a month that still counted the napalm phantom kills. The air-victory route is unchanged. - The change applies from your next mission. Ranks and citations already held stay as they are. AWARDS MOD: "STOCK PROMOTIONS" REPAIRED If you chose "stock promotions" when installing the awards mod, the installer had been giving you an outdated awards file for several versions: without the napalm guard, still awarding the Bronze Star with V device, and with the old Distinguished Flying Cross chain. 2.7.2 installs the current file. Only the promotion rules differ from the standard option now, as intended. OPERATIONS ROOM - Active, killed-in-action and reserve stamps redrawn for the dark squadron table. Arrow_1974 Posted Wednesday at 12:37 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 12:37 AM (edited) IL-2 Korea Service Record 2.7.3 — corrections while you fly Gentlemen, 2.7.3 corrects your career while you play, starts and stops together with the game if you like, and puts the finishing touches on the Air Force mess dress and the certificates. NEW: CORRECTIONS WHILE YOU FLY Since the game build of 29 September, napalm on airfields books the same destroyed buildings again and again, and the game pays career points (PCP) for every one of those phantom kills. Service Record has been taking them back out, but only when you opened your career - by then the game had sometimes already promoted a pilot on the inflated figure at the next day change. While Service Record is open, it now watches your career and corrects it seconds after each debriefing, before the next day change. Tested in two napalm sessions: in one the game counted 442 points, 426 of them phantom, and the 16 real ones were all that reached the career. No promotion is granted on phantom kills any more. This only works while Service Record is running. The easiest way to make sure it is: let it start and stop with the game. NEW: STARTING AND STOPPING WITH THE GAME Two switches for game launchers: --companion starts Service Record quietly in the tray, without opening the browser --quit --companion closes it again when the game has ended, after any correction in progress has finished If you open Service Record yourself, it stays open when the game ends. With Game Companion by izolini @joker_BR (https://github.com/izolini/GameCompanion), which starts and stops tools such as TrackIR, CrewChief or Joystick Gremlin with a game, register it as one more utility: Name IL-2 Korea Service Record Executable Path your installation folder\IL2_Korea_Service_Record.exe Start Arguments --companion Post-launch wait 0 Instant, Delay Start, Run as Administrator, Auto-restart: unchecked Stop Method Command, with the arguments --quit --companion Then tick it in both the launch and the stop sequence of your IL-2 Korea card. Please use Command, not Kill: Kill could stop Service Record in the middle of writing to your career. Without Game Companion, a desktop shortcut to IL2_Korea_Service_Record.exe --companion does the same before you start the game. USAF MESS DRESS - The miniature medals sit on the left lapel, where the Air Force wears them with the mess jacket, a little larger than before. - Their ribbons are shaded like hanging cloth and they cast a shadow, so they sit in the photograph instead of on it. - A new Medal of Honor at the neck. CERTIFICATES - A certificate opened on its own page now lies on a green leather desk blotter, in both layouts. It is scaled to fit whatever its shape. In print and in the personnel file nothing changes. FIXES - "Flight records missing" no longer appears for an emergency scramble that was never flown before the day changed. - Starting Service Record a second time no longer wipes the log of the copy already running. VISHNU Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM Posted Saturday at 11:22 PM (edited) @Arrow_1974 Hey Arrow, I was just wondering if it's at all possible to make the combat mission report just a teeny bit larger. I'm 57 years old, and I'm having a tough time reading it. I use VR, and I have to search for my readers to see it. If it's not possible, I understand. ***EDIT*** Just an idea, is there anyway possible on the main screen if you click on any of the destroyed targets if it could bring up a picture of what you destroyed? ie: you bomb a bofors, but want to see what it looks like? Perhaps drawing from the museum of the game itself? It may be more complicated, but I think it would be cool, because there are soooo many different targets in this game.
