The F9F is waiting for me to barely get it into the air, miss all of the targets on the ground, get damaged by flak because I circled around for 5 minutes too long, and then crash into the back of the carrier after struggling to get back with barely enough fuel.

For example? Unfortunately, there's not much choice on this side anymore. Possible options include an earlier version of the MiG-15, possibly La-9, a flyable bomber (like a Tu-2, for example), or perhaps a Po-2 for reconnaissance/night bombing missions, An-2 for transport and paratroopers.

You are completely correct with that list. The Yak-17 is a possibility for trainer units perhaps.

In Europe there was a greater variety - I gather that La-15, Mig-17, and the Il-28 all overlap in time with Korea - but they've stated that only aircraft which saw combat in Korea are planned.

I hope they announce whether or not development on Great Battles will continue into 2027 or beyond. I know it is obvious GB is not the main focus for the IL-2 dev team, but it would be nice to have a verified confirmation from them.

If any of the DLC aircraft are trainers there are going to be some very angry customers. I think most people are expecting iconic front line aircraft for the money that they blindly paid out.

Well, it'd be fair. I think it'd be kind-of hilarious if the DLC was a C-47, Li-2, Po-2, Yak-17, and AT-6!

I agree that it'd be a bit unwise though... as many people wouldn't have my sense of humour about that. Of course, the AT-6 crowd would be happy.

I suspect this might be dependent on how well the sales go for the 2026 content - and it hasn't been put on sale for pre-ordering yet. So, they'll likely need to sell that content, and then assess the viability of future content... before answering that question.

It would probably be significantly less hilarious if you needed future sales to feed your family.

With around 50 hours into KOREA, even with its flaws, im excited about the future. There is tons to work with here and we have seen how 1C love to grow the product. These guys love flight Sims.

That makes a lot of sense. Personally, I would like to see one more module for Great Battles on the Eastern Front - a late 1944-45 module somewhere in Eastern or Central Europe - where we get late war Soviet Aircraft, and can re-use German aircraft from Bodenplatte for Pilot Career. But I am aware that 1CGS isn't a giant like Microsoft and don't have a virtually unlimited budget, and they need to stick to their priorities (which they are), and I agree something like what I have suggested isn't a top priority for them.

Maybe the big news is a breakthrough for the VR crowd? I don't use VR, but I would celebrate not having to read countless threads about how it's not good enough for them. 😄 Someday I may have enough disposable income to try it, but it's too rich for my blood at this point.

No that’s not possible, it’s a completely different build and nothing from Korea will be back ported into GBs.
