Next DLC announcement, when?

Sniv here, from previous IL2GB forums. 🫡

I followed IL2-Korea development from a certain distance. Now that it’s out, I read quite good reviews about it. Well done devs!

I’ve seen the release trailer and the sneak peek about next DLC. I know about rumors for next planeset, but I see nothing about it on this forum… 🤨

Do we know when next DLC will be announced? On the 2026 roadmap, they said Q2-2026…

I wished they would suspend development of the DLC and focus on shoring up the main game first. Add more and missing features before accruing more technical debt.

They can work on them in parallel especially since everything that's "missing" will be used in the DLC, and the artists/modelers are doing the bulk of the work for the DLC.

Indeed, I remembered they took place in the 1950s. I checked, but it was Dien Bien Phu (1954). That was Vietnam, oops.... well, I can't count on it, it won't be in the Korea DLC 😢.

Google the types of aircraft that flew from the USS Essex during Korea. That would be a good starting point for making assumptions, then of course think of any constraints from the devs, or gameplay.

I haven't seen the F9F anywhere yet, but it seems like a logical choice. I am very interested in the Skyraider, early versions.

There has to be an F9F surely. It was heavily used in Korea by the USN and marines.

By early versions are you referring to Korean War era ones? Or the AD-1/AD-2 vs. AD-4?

I'd be curious if you prefer the AD-2 over the AD-4... the AD-2 carried less armament (e.g. half of the 20mm cannons) and less armour, but had higher performance due to the lighter weight. I gather that all three were used in Korea.

What about the Gloster Meteor F.8 - No. 77 sqn of the Australian Air force flew thousands of missions from April 1951 until the armistice in 1953. It was not very good against the MiG-15 but performed well in the ground attack role.

I would like to see Mig-9 for missions balance, and there is a story of US pilots that shoot down one in Korea.
