Zeus Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Is it possible to change the amount of award points that i start with or can get from completing a operation? Also can i change how many available request points i start a career with?
Av8orDave Posted August 8 Posted August 8 So after the first time my squadron relocates (I’ve tried this with both the F-80 and F-86), my squadron seems to basically have unlimited fuel, ammo, and equipment and I no longer need to replenish this with credits. Is this behavior intended?
AndreiTomescu Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Yes, it appears so, because you've moved from a little airfield with limited storage to a huge place, like Seoul, where storage areas are immense, and shared by several groups located there. It's not a bug, it's just the benefit of a large storage hub. I was also surprised by this, but look at the total storage capacity, home much it got larger.
AndreiTomescu Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Nope. But being successful with your group brings much more award points than you can actually spend!

Do you mean requisition points? Those I got a plenty, over 200 points now and all plane slot filled and enough ammo and fuel to win the war and I am in may 1951 now with a F-51 career. What I don’t have are award points. Can’t even give aviation badges and Purple Hearts for al the pilots that can get them.
AndreiTomescu Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Ah, sorry. Yes, i ment acquisition points. Award points are very scarce. From what I've read so far, these promotions came indeed late in the war. What i hope is for the high command to promote all of us to the Sabre, later on (also riding Mustangs so far). But i guess they will do that once they will fix those Sabre wings! 🙂
BlitzPig_EL Posted August 8 Posted August 8 More Importantly, fix the Mig's high G load ability, both in structure and pilot. Sorry, I know it's a bit of a rant. Back on topic, When any of my AI pilots get wounded, a Purple Heart point should automatically be given, period. The other medals should be based on performance. Oh and why does the commander of my second career already have the Congressional Medal of Honor after only a short time in action? 1
Redeye Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I almost made a comment about a certain US citizen and buying medals and such. 1

Mark_Krieger Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) In fact I think skills of the pilots should not be linked to awards but to hours of flight and experience. And awards shouldn't be restricted to award points anyway. If a pilot has flyed a lot of hours and destroyed many targets he should receive the award no matter what. Voxman Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Is there a methodology for maximizing pilot promotion awards for medals/ pilot effectiveness? In other words, I have a strong ground pounding unit, and occasion we will get damaged aircraft, or a pilot gets wounded. Does this count against award count? If I don't fly with the squad, is this also a handicap? Just curious as I've searched on this and it's barely acknowledged. Computer: AMD 7800x3D, Nvidia 5070Ti, 64Gb DDR5-6000. 1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted August 11 1C Game Studios Posted August 11 You will receive more supply request points if you fly on a mission and it's successful. Having damaged or wounded pilots doesn't count against the award count - it depends on the success of the current military operation and your unit's overall success rate. 1
Viking1 Posted August 12 Posted August 12 (edited) About half my pilots have good and growing skills, discipline and courage (every category 3 or higher). Does that impact their performance in a2a and a2g missions? And if so, that in turn increases my unit efficiency and the likelihood of greater award points? Does it make a difference in award points or resources if I personally fly the mssn or not? thanks *** For those flying in the career, have you seen any or all of these mission types -- Scramble against incoming enemy aircraft Priority air escort Air cover for ground supply missions Edited August 12 by Viking1

So to understand this correctly, for a special operation battle that pops up on the map, I should concentrate my units at those targets within that highlighted dashed area, and have each of those missions succeed to gather award promotion points? I haven't done that as much, mostly because there are interesting attack missions that were never on IL2 GB, such as dam busting. I did a few of these and man are they fun and visually stunning. I assume you are responding to the special mission types. Yes, ive done it that way.. set up my commander and his section as duty flight and flown the scrambles. The missions come up either way. So far I have not seen any air cover missions for supply lines so i can't tell if this is integrated in the career with notices alone or forms part of the mission structure. You can see the formula in the debrief of the mission. Award points depend of the success of operations and I think they are 5 award points per aporation. Unit efficiency I think is linked to the success of missions, It grows very fast to 3 (maximum efficiency) I haven't seen air cover for ground supply missions, but one time that I failed an air escort, the result affected ground supply. Carrer mode still needs a lot of adjustments in my opinion. CPU AMD Ryzen 7800 X3D, GPU AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, RAM: 64 Gb DDR5, VR Headset: Quest 3.

It's planned to add this to the player-included missions in the future. 2
rpgielow Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Guys any idea what is going on here ?? I cannot fly missions anymore on career mode. My pilot is inside this D blue box and I am unable to fly any mission even after days inside the campaign. What is the catch here??? Edited August 13 by rpgielow
[I.B.]-=ViRUS=- Posted August 13 Posted August 13 Those are pilots that on duty to guard the airfield.
BlitzPig_EL Posted August 13 Posted August 13 You have to assign your "Duty Flight" to another flight that you are not part of. First click "Duty Flight" at the bottom of the screen. Then click on your flight to deselect it, then assign the duty flight to another flight in your squadron.
