Patricks Posted August 5 Posted August 5 Fairly new application being actively developed that takes the place (for me) of XRNS (XR NeckSafer) (Pivot function in Vector XR) and some other functions included in the no longer supported OpenXR Toolkit. Currently discussed on the DCS Forum here but he will have a dedicated Discord channel soon. Works perfectly for me in Korea.. I'm having intermittent "jumps" in GB (especially in the Map/Planning screens), have not figured it out yet. No issues in Korea, DCS. or Falcon BMS.. When you hit the "Pivot Activate" keybind looking straight ahead, does your view move about 10 degrees right? As to the ‘jumping’ in GB make sure you have the latest version. Had it to but the developer fixed it (for me anyway).
YoYo Posted August 6 Posted August 6 The app is great. I might miss a menu for settings directly on the HMD, but it's very useful. For IL-2 Korea, I'm currently using the World Scale (the default is too small for me; I currently have it set to -5.5) and Turbo. As for Turbo, I'm not sure yet if it helps or hinders. Sometimes I experience a strange, momentary micro-stutter, but it happens rarely. It could be a game optimization issue, but I once had a situation where Turbo had a similar effect in Toolkit, and I disabled it. What I'm missing is a sharpness option (image filter). I really hope the author adds this. I really liked this feature in OpenToolkit. Home cockipt: GPU RTX5090, CPU i7 13900, RAM 64Gb. | Webmaster of yoyosims.pl. VR flying only.

It works perfectly under SteamVR's OpenXR implementation, your statement may mislead people. I'm running the latest version (.15) and am in contact with the author regarding the issue I have in IL-2 GB. No issues with other titles. 5 hours ago, YoYo said: The app is great. I have the Depth\World Scale set to -25 and see virtually no difference when I activate \deactivate in the cockpit.. odd. I just noticed I had "Depth Lock" enabled, maybe that tis the issue, i've disabled it and will check again. As for Turbo, run without it for at least 30 seconds and turn it on (In-game toggle keybind) for 30+ seconds, exit game. In VectorXR check the Turbo\ Performance Diagnostics page \ Results\ Flight log. It will tell you IF there is an increase in performance (or not).. Not being a Meta guy I would have to assume you don't have SteamVR set to handle OpenXR... Redeye Posted August 6 Posted August 6 No that is correct. The Meta XR drivers performed better than the SteamXR drivers that’s why I don’t use them. 1
KoN Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Can you smooth pan in this like XRNS. Auto rotary. R5 - 5500X3D - ASROCK - B55O - RTX4070S - LEXAR - 48GB - PICO NEO 3 LINK DP.
Patricks Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 (edited) 58 minutes ago, KoN said: Can you smooth pan in this like XRNS. Auto rotary. Yes, you set your deadzone and then how much of an accelerated movement you want on each axis.. Pivot function is very similar to XRNS. The main differences are (to XRNS)- 1. Once set up, the app works from the API layer, you do not need to run the app to use it. API layer does not need to top the active layer list (but you do need to disable XRNS) 2. You can set up a profile for individual games, using the other functions (or not) if applicable. .Pivot\Quadviews (NG in Korea, DCS\MFS only) \Depth, and Turbo are available. 3. You can set a keybind\DX bind to activate\deactivate the app in-game, or set it "Always Active" and it will be on all the time. There are many other differences, just a quick comparison.. KoN Posted August 15 Posted August 15 I installed this and tried but when I turn my head to check six nothing happens. I'll try again With clean install. Looks good to be honest. So I need to assign a joystick button like XRNS to get it working. ? R5 - 5500X3D - ASROCK - B55O - RTX4070S - LEXAR - 48GB - PICO NEO 3 LINK DP.

This is all assuming you have a game profile set up and the game is seen in the Application Registry if not, I believe just Turn "Default Profile to ON, set an activation key, and go. In your profile, in the Pivot setup under "Activation Bindings" you need to Set "Behavior" to Toggle and "Binding Type" to either KB or Device. If KB simply assign a key, if a device (HOTAS or something else) assign a Device button\hat\switch press. Once in-game, activate it and if looking off center enough (depending on your Deadzone setting) to auto-activate movement your view will change.. VXR itself does not have to be running to work (it's OXR API is active) and IIRC there is no 'Center view" bind like in XRNS either, just use what is in-game. Jade_Monkey Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Gave it a try, pretty good so far for the neck safer function. Need to tweak some more the smoothness and angles but feels very easy to pick up and works well Sorry if it's been mentioned, but can this override divested rendering? Tried the static zone but honestly couldn't notice the difference. Will test more. 1 AMD Ryzen 5800X3D | Nvidia RTX 4090 | 32 GB DDR4 | nVME SSD | VR headset: Pimax Dream Air SLAM
Jade_Monkey Posted August 15 Posted August 15 @Patricks, do you know if the app needs to be started before launching the game every time you start your PC? Also, if the answer is no, does it work if you launch it after the game is running? Or do you need to restart the game? No , it doesn't need to be started before the game , OpenXR layer is activated automatically. Edited August 16 by Husar 2
Patricks Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 (edited) Yes, as long as the API is active (see below), all you need to do is hit your VXR "Activation" keybind in game. Only Turbo and Pivot have an On\Off function in-game, Pivot is obvious when on, Turbo you should have play a different sound when activated\deactivated. It will test Turbos function for you and tell you (in % +\-) if it is helping, just need to run a minute+ with it Off, then Turn it on. Saves the monitoring session every time. If you are running XRNS you need to deactivate it, easy to do in OpenXR-API-Layers-GUI, plus you see what is going on. You can get it here.. Should look like this (I have OBSMirror installed\Enabled, you may not) if Vector XR (Enabled) and XRNS (Disabled) are both installed. Love(d) XRNS and Nobiwan deserves great praise for it, but this is the future.. Show your current XRNS options and I can (if you are using smooth, I don't do "Steps) show you how that would look in VXR Pivot.
