Mainstay Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I want to be able to adjust the size of ingame labels. It’s the same messy presentation as it was in IL2BOX. Oversized and unadjustable….. 1
ColoniaLibre Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hello there, I would like to suggest a "Dark Theme" for both the mini-map and the main map. This would be incredibly helpful during night operations. The current normal "daylight" map is very bright. Every time you open it to check your position and then switch back to the cockpit view during night ops, you experience a severe loss of night vision. It takes about 10 to 15 seconds for your eyes to readapt to the dark sky outside. 😎 It would be wonderful if you could implement an "eye-friendly" "Dark Theme" variant of the maps in the future (yep, sometimes you need the dark side of the force). 😉 Ideally, this could include a shortcut key to easily toggle between the daylight and dark theme variant. Thank you very much for your time and attention! Best regards You are absolutely right about how things were done back then with paper maps. My suggestion was less about forcing a strict historical map layout and more about addressing a modern hardware problem. A paper map in a dark room doesn't emit light, but a modern PC display, TV or a VR headset definitely acts like a flashlight to your eyes. 😎😉 I just wanted to suggest a potential feature to improve usability during night ops on our glowing screens. How the developers choose to solve this issue - whether through a dedicated "dark map" (I put it in »"« like Doctor Evil ✌️😉) a brightness slider, or by mimicking cockpit red-light illumination - is entirely up to to the dev team. It is their game, they know best where to spend their resources, and if they think it's a good idea, I'm sure they will find a great way to implement it that fits the game perfectly. 🙂 Best regards 1 2 »Well, sometimes you stall, and sometimes the others just let you stall!« 🙄
MajorMagee Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Pretty cool find. Curious I tried viewing it through a Red light filter in Photoshop. It was an ugly red and yellow. Then I tried it with UV and got this result. 1 Service To The Line, On The Line, On Time! 9800X3D, 64 GB DDR5, RTX 5070-Ti 1024 GB/s @ 2700 MHz 0.85V, Calibrated 8 bit IPS 3440x1440 @ 100Hz
JG4_Moltke71 Posted August 18 Posted August 18 All I want is a good working game in VR also in high resolution. In a foreseeable future, not in ten years. ASUS ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5090-32GB GDDR7; ASUS ROG STRIX X870E-E GAMING; AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 4,3GHz AM5; DDR5 64GB PC 6000 CL30 G.Skill Varjo Aero Headset
TheAngryGamer Posted Sunday at 10:41 PM Posted Sunday at 10:41 PM THe game is very new and pretty good really. I do wish I could hear the actual P-51 engine. It seems like I can only hear the prop. throttle adjustments can not be heard but prop speed difference can. Every video I have seen from inside the plane indicates it is quite loud in there. Also, Why is it impossible to model a American plane where the wings dont snap off at the slightest twitch of the stick. I have flown 4 or 5 times in the Sabre. And every time the wing snap and the most recent, I was flying almost level at 300 knots and just twitched the stick barely. Bye bye wings. I mean seriously? and it is literally only American planes in every game. I can try to snap others and they never do snap. But American wings have a jettison button somewhere.
JG14_Jagr Posted Monday at 05:23 PM Posted Monday at 05:23 PM (edited) I would love the ability to set up an aircraft with markings, paint scheme, tail numbers, loadout etc and have that tied to my login account. So when I log on my F86 is already setup to my default setup and markings unless I decide to change it. Each plane could have a saved default. It would save time. I had the FPS set to 60 and it never moved so I moved it up to 80 and it never moved from 80. This was at 1920/1080 Res on a 144Hz monitor. There might be other ways to decrease the memory load on the 8Gig card without touching the 4K textures but that was the first thing I tried, and it worked, so I just left it. I have since upgraded to a 9070XT and I run higher settings and 4K textures but honestly I don't think the difference is that much. You should have no trouble I would love the ability to setup a training mission where I could just have a Mig15 flying at different aspects, straight and level, in a sustained gentler left or right turn, etc. This would be a HUGE aid in figuring out the gun sights and adjusting gunnery for the game. Maybe I'm missing how to make it happen, but it would ne a great thing to have. Edited Tuesday at 04:51 PM by JG14_Jagr

That airplane has a constant-speed propeller, which means that the engine RPM changes only when the “propeller speed” changes. And what you can hear is the change in engine RPM.

actionhank Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:46 PM (edited) I had some ideas for the campaign that I think could be cool. 1. It would be cool if we could edit the pilots in our squadrons to give them names and pictures that we want to use. It would be fun to add my friends to see who survives the war, and to give a little more personality to the campaign beyond the generic AI photos. (I've already got plenty of custom skins ready once the F-80 template drops). 2. I'm hoping there will be some improvements to how you navigate through the pilots and manage your supplies. Right now having to do everything on a pilot-by-pilot basis can feel very slow and tedious. It would be nice to have the ability to Shift+Click multiple pilots or even just have a "Select All" or "Select Checked" box for if we want to do something like move 4 pilots at once to reserve and promote 4 more to take their place. Or if I wanted to assign a single generic skin to a certain number of pilots and their planes. 3. A "Stats" screen for your pilots with sortable columns would be really nice. Being able to sort by "Sorties Flown" "Planes Shot Down" "Ground Targets Destroyed" and whatever else people can think of would be really helpful. It would make it easier for me to find which of my pilots are the most experienced and either make them flight leaders or take all of my best ground attack guys and assign them to those missions, while keeping the guys with the most fighter kills waiting for air missions or the scramble crew. 4. Maybe I just haven't seen it if it's there, but another thing that would be nice would be a "mission log" where you can see what happened to your flight and who destroyed what or what shot by who. I was flying last night and just randomly went to an external view as my plane started to roll uncontrolled in one direction...which I assumed was from my pilot being killed, but I have no idea who or what shot me. There wasn't flak going off around me that I could see, I just randomly died. With the messages in game on the screen, and just the way things work, I assume there's the log on the back end, but it would be nice to have a way to access it at the end of the mission to see what happened.
