JG123410 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Thank you! @LukeFF - Are there still plans to include AQMB capability for Odessa and/or Leningrad when the campaigns for these maps are complete in Q3/Q4 timeframe? Odessa is one of my favorite maps 😀

Artiglio Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I'd like to bring to the developers' attention something that really bothers me visually... That is, seeing snow drifts and patches in the shelters, hangars, etc., on the winter maps, which really shouldn't be there... Now I'm wondering, with all the updates made, maybe in the next one we can fix this too? I've attached an image to give you a clearer idea of what I mean... 🤗.

AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 1 Posted May 1 3 minutes ago, Artiglio said: YES! In that case don't get your hopes up. Adjusting all winter maps would take a huge amount of effort. I'm pretty confident that at this point in IL2's life cycle, the Devs aren't going to put in the work. 1
Aapje Posted May 1 Posted May 1 If the floor is not part of the hangar model, but just the ground, then fixing this would require a rework of the hangar model to have a floor. The question is whether the old engine can then even handle us going inside the hangar anymore. 1
Catch Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Leaving the hangar doors open during a blizzard leads to such results. Obvious negligence and poor discipline from the ground staff who you may have noticed have scarpered fearing a firing squad or worse. One hopes Korea rectifies this slovenly attitude. 1 5 1

This has always been possible, and wouldn't some day become not possible just because the engine gets a year older. its not like it can develop alzheimers or dementia. Edited May 3 by FuriousMeow 1

I think you completely missed my point. If they add a floor to the hangars, going inside them with the plane means that you would then no longer drive on the ground, but on the hanger model, which could give issues. 1

And you can taxi on non-terrain objects plus runways - the various types added with Normandy - that are also not part of the terrain.
FeuerFliegen Posted May 6 Posted May 6 What this new update? I opened up IL-2 today and got a 489.18mb update, but didn't see any mention of it.

MajorMagee Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) The problem with publishing an update without warning people is that it can cause a lot of grief if you have mods installed and you don't disable them before the patch happens. I got lucky and happened to see these comments before I tried to run the game yesterday. It would be a nice addition to the software for it to check and see if mods are enabled/installed and then abort the install with a warning to uninstall them and try again. Same suggestion applies to Korea assuming we'll eventually be allowed to have mods there too. Edited May 7 by MajorMagee 2

If an update installation starts, you see the download notification and it does not immediately say "Play" you can close the GUI screen, uninstall your mods and then reopen the game .exe. to restart the installation. I don't think the new files immediately begin overwriting game files. Also you can probably calm down about the 7.006 update. If there is no change log or explanation it is most likely just normal maintenance or a hotfix for the previous update. Maybe some corrected campaign files or something else you would not notice. I am not aware of what it is, but I am also not even a little bit concerned.
