Minimap does not work, you need to use the full briefing map for now.. which will have the left side covered with Chat messages but they fade after ~15 seconds. Just be sure you are flying level or climbing slightly when you bring it up.. 🙃

I should add (especially if in VR) that if you have the Briefing Map assigned to a button, bind another to the "Esc" key, it closes the Map without using the mouse to click "Back to game" in MP..

Да получилось, но ориентироваться все равно сложно. Нет точки самолетика, не говоря уже о направление, это тоже интересно, но пока сложно для меня.

Для меня как раз всё наоборот, интересно без подсказок на карте и маркеров. Тем более, ты вчера под конец и сам неплохо ориентировался. Так что, через месяц-два тренировок, выучим карту и это станет не проблемой, а фишкой.

Это особенность «Полного реализма». Через некоторое время вы научитесь узнавать, где вы находитесь, по городам\рекам\заливам\островам и местности. Я считаю, что в любом сеттинге, кроме «Полного реализма» (или, может быть, «Сложного»?), будет движущаяся мини-карта и возможность использования значков. Вы можете попрактиковаться, покинув известное место (вашу базу) и полетев вверх/вниз по побережью, возвращаясь к карте, чтобы находить ориентиры по ходу дела...

It's a feature of "Full Realism". You learn to recognize where you are by cities\rivers\inlets\islands and terrain after a while. I believe any setting other than Full Realism (or maybe Hard?) will have the moving mini-map and possibility of Icons. You can practice by leaving a known spot (your base) and flying up/down the coast, going back to the map to identify landmarks as you go...

In B-29 interception mission (Pa38_operation_pressure_3) shot down B-29 sometimes doesn't count as kill. Is it some bug, or it's because B-29 is AI plane?

The mission itself is great, especially if you attack that huge B-29 formation in Yak-9P or La-11.

Mission Red_Menace_5, target description at Kimpo airfield says "Destroy airfield facilities", but destroyed airfield buildings don't count. Is it intended (so players have to just bomb any airfield buildings), or there is some particular buildings, that counts as targets?

Название аэродрома звучит как "Импровизированный аэродром". Значит нормально.

The airfield is called “Improvised Airfield,” so it's acceptable.

@Kemnilov Yes, that's true. The AI B-29s won't show in kills.

Hello, beautiful people! The server will be undergoing maintenance until 13:00 UTC. During this time, you'll still be able to see the server, but you won't be able to join until the maintenance has been completed.

What's coming?

I'm introducing the Weather Randomizer I told you about, along with something I'm particularly excited about. Until now, we've always played the same mission preset: identical weather, objectives, and aircraft deployments. I'm currently developing a Target Randomizer system (similar to the concept I am working with the PvE missions). This will be a testing. How does it work? Every time the mission starts, the system will randomly generate key mission elements, including:

Target locations.

Aircraft availability and numbers at different airbases (within realistic presets).

Combined with the Weather Randomizer, every mission will feel unique 

This feature will initially be available in a single mission, which I'll reveal as soon as it's ready. Once again, thank you all for your feedback, suggestions, and continued support. Your input has been invaluable in helping improve the server. Oh—and I'm also working on several VRAM optimization improvements by removing and optimizing unused parts of the map. Every little bit helps, especially for VR users!




Changelog for the rest of the missions:

Operation Pressure

Fixed AI gunners skill of the B-29s. People complained they were too good.

Added one target for A/G for red side (Attack the UN Entreched positions)

Added Il-10 for red side

Road to Manchuria

Fixed road base. Now it is placed in a better place

Fixed some AAA being vulnerable

Ship target added for red side too and increased number

Red Menace

Reintroduction of the mission

Fixed bridges destroyed message

Corrected F-80 logic

Added more UN AAA

Convoy 557

Fixed a few unit placements

Increased number of artillery

Added Red assault boats heading to the Convoy at the second half of the mission

Added new system to randomize weather

Added performance improvements for all missions

Activated metrics to share with other servers. This will be useful to help them developing scenarios

I'm now actively working to shift the server to PvE as it ws promised. It will take a few weeks, but I am just covering the gap till PvP servers appear.
I want to remind everybody that Parallel 38 is a PvE server and community and will shift back to it as soon as possible.

LuftManu, thanks for the answer about B-29, but what about this? Do the Red side players have to bomb any buildings on Blue side airfields to complete objective "Destroy airfield facilities", or do they have to bomb some particular buildings at these airfields?

Thanks for your question!

I didn't finish the mission logic yet, but anything that is destroyed from the airfield (Planes, buildings) etc will count to a number and give the objective completed 🙂

I think it will be like 30 to 40. 

This way it's more fun to plan different attacks with different planes.

Luftmanu- as a longtime IL2 Player who was on the fence on Korea EA because I stink at PVP- this server just cemented that I must buy this!

Looking forward to it! Now if they (Devs) can eliminate showing all those data error messages that sometimes fill the left 3rd of the VR screen! Users do not need to see them, VERY annoying..
