Hispazor Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Thank you so much! The new settings manager looks much nicer now 👍 1
FodderMonkey Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Just a heads up: don't change your own pilot's name with the roster feature. It confuses the game into thinking you're not a player character, but crashes when it tries to run a mission with your pilot in it. It effectively corrupted my career, so...don't do that. 1
Arrow_1974 Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 (edited) @FodderMonkey I hope you were able to restore the database with the restore function. I will have a look if it's possible to rename the player's pilot without corrupting the game or if that is not possible set a guardrail that makes it impossible to do that. Just one remark: If any pilot's name (player and/or AI) is renamed, AI stories generated before renaming will NOT reflect the name change. Only newly created stories will. Arrow_1974 Posted June 22 Author Posted June 22 (edited) IL-2 Campaign Tracker v3.2.0 – Mod Manager, Pilot Renaming & More Hey everyone, v3.2.0 is out — this is a bigger update, so I'm bumping the minor version accordingly. Download link update zip: V3.2.0 (version 3.0.0 needed) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ If you are completely new to the Campaign/Career Tracker, you can download here the full version as setup.exe. No previous version necessary: Full installer v3.2.0 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's what's new: Mod Manager (new tab in Settings Manager) The Settings Manager now has a dedicated Mod Manager tab where you can download, install, and uninstall three IL-2 mods created by me directly from within the tracker — no manual file hunting needed: IL-2 Rank Mod — the full version with its own installer and uninstaller IL-2 Rank Mod Light — file-copy based, cleanly tracked so every file can be removed on uninstall - works like JGSME IL-2 Cockpit Photo Editor — extracted to a folder of your choice - The latest version of the editor itself has moved from hard-coded radio buttons to a dropdown list for selecting cockpit artwork: simply create a new subfolder under the Photo Assets folder, drop in your .dds files, and it will appear as an option in the list automatically — no config changes needed. Created by @VISHNU (artwork/photo assets) and me (programming) You can find more detailed information about the career rank mods here: https://forum.il2-series.com/topic/772-expanded-career-rank-mod/#comment-4086 More information about the Cockpit Photo Editor can be found here: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/91634-modcockpit-photo-editor-advanced-version-now-contains-pin-up-art/ Potential new mods will be added in the Mod Manager tab as well. The installer tracks every individual file it places on disk, so uninstalling is clean and precise — it removes exactly what it put there and nothing else. Note: The Rank Mod and Rank Mod Light are mutually exclusive — only one can be installed at a time. The Mod Manager enforces this automatically: installing one will grey out the other until the active one is uninstalled. Control Center — Rank Mod & Cockpit buttons If you have any of the above mods installed, the Control Center now shows the relevant buttons automatically: Start Rank Mod / Stop Rank Mod — launches or terminates the rank promotion checker with the required elevation. The status line shows Rank Mod: Running or Not running in real time, and correctly picks up a checker that was already running before you opened the Control Center. Open Cockpit Photo Editor — one-click launch from the Control Center. Buttons are hidden when the corresponding mod isn't installed — the Control Center stays uncluttered if you don't use these mods. Reliable Pilot Renaming — including retroactive AI story updates Renaming a pilot (player pilot and AI pilots) in the Squadron Roster now works correctly across the full career chain, including pilots who transferred between squadrons mid-career. Previously, the rename could miss AI pilot copies in other theatres if the squadron had changed since the career started. More importantly: AI stories are updated backwards. If your pilot's name appears in chapters that were already generated — dialogue, narrative, mission summaries — those are all rewritten to reflect the new name. You're not left with a mix of old and new names in your career book. The same synchronization runs automatically when you restore a database backup from the Settings Manager. Other fixes Various stability and edge-case fixes throughout As always, install by dropping the update zip into your IL-2 Campaign Tracker folder and running the updater from the Settings Manager → Updates tab. Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming! Varibraun Posted Friday at 12:32 AM Posted Friday at 12:32 AM @Arrow_1974 - Just dropping in to say thanks again! I love the briefing below regarding the friendly fire, it all happened so quick I thought I had somehow rammed my target aircraft. The narrative and your mission log explained what happens to idiots willing to fly into the fray when naval AA is trying to swat down anything and everything flying over the Normandy beach. Great time, now memorialized! 5
