It adds two British, two German and one Italian ship. details of what the pack includes can be found here: Additional Warships and Naval AI mod - Mods - IL-2 Sturmovik Forum Thank you to Stonehouse and Kraut1 for allowing the inclusion of their great mod. ******************************************************************************************************************* There are 4 folders included in total which after being unzipped which need to go inside your main game MODS folder, these are: 1. Kuban_Autumn-1943_Desert_Beta_V9a_17-10-2025 Main set of Desert Mod files. 2. Kuban_Autumn-1943_Desert_Beta_V9a_Additional Warships_17-10-2025 These files need to be installed they are not optional, as in the future mission files included will call on files in this set. 3. Kuban_Autumn-1943_Desert_Beta_V9a_mission_set-332FG Includes two mission sets, one based loosely around the US 332FG. And the other a set outlining the service of the Tuskegee Airman. Missions created by Falcon41 from the IL2 forums. Access these via the single player mission screen. 4. Kuban_Autumn-1943_Desert_Beta_trees_add_last_if_you_want_trees_in_game. ONLY USE THIS FILE IF YOU WANT TO SEE TREES IN THE MOD. Once unzipped folders are set up in your MOD's folder you simply load the main mod with JSGME and then load the Additional War Ships pack, then load the mission files. that's it. The last option is the use of the tree file, only install this if you wish to see tree's in game. By default the mod has trees removed from the scenery. You need to fully uninstall this MOD when flying in any other map area, or you will see desert schemed camouflage on Buildings, vehicles and some aircraft whilst flying in Europe. it does not hurt your install stock/vanilla in any way. ****************************************************************************************************************** Readme included with installation instructions. PLEASE note: you need to tick the option "Enable MOD's" in your settings screen for this to work. The next update will be Beta-10 at some point in the future. The files included change the following: The main work has been the retexturing of ground files to replicate the look of something similar to Tunisia/Libya landscapes. Additionally there has been a lot of work swapping out the Russian themed 3D models and paint schemes with those of US and British 3D model types and schemes. Example the Russian tanks models have been swapped for Sherman M4 models, with various styles of camouflage applied to each version. Static Russian aircraft have been replaced with various US and British aircraft. Allied pilot models have been amended to replace the Russian pilot models. So in game in QC or missions that have not set the country designation to either US or British you see an RAF pilot flying the spitfires, Hurricanes, A20, P40’s P39, etc. rather than the Russian pilot model. The pilots have had new textures applied to be more in line with Nth African theatre uniforms. Building models have also been swapped and repainted to be more in line with the Nth African/Mediterranean environment. Ships and trains have been repainted to show correct markings for German and Allied nations. I have changed all the default aircraft skins for the aircraft used and allied vehicles in the Desert War to desert schemed skins. The in-game map has been completely reworked with all place names now replaced with real place names that fit geographically with real world locations. Our own Stonehouse was the driving force behind getting the names sourced and then checking my poor spelling to make sure they were all correct. this part of the mod was a large amount of work, to photoshop out all the old names and then put the new names in across 3 sets of map tiles at different resolutions, 400 textures had to be altered in all. So please use the map to navigate Thanks Scott for all your help with this. And lastly, I have modified in game menu screens to include historical content and to give the game more of a Desert War theme. In addition to my own work on retexturing, and the file manipulation of the items mentioned above, I have had a lot of help with the repaints for German vehicles and a lot of aircraft skins. I have included a Permission List text document in the download that lists all the people who have contributed their work, and a description of what they contributed. please read this. ***************************************************************************************************************** Revised aircraft textures: to make it easy for mission builders I have included a text document that lists the aircraft in the mod that have had new paint schemes applied. It lists the aircraft skin number to match to the skins in the mission editor drop down menu and a brief description of what the skin relates to. The list also names person who created each skin. This file is to help people identify a correct texture to apply to an aircraft in the mission editor. So that if you wish you can have correct Nth. African schemes on all the spawned aircraft in a mission. regards Rob. link to old forum thread where you can browse 18 pages of MOD development discussion and pictures highlighting the changes included. Off_Winters Posted August 12 Author Posted August 12 (edited) G'Day All, For those interested I have been quietly adding content and have kept the Desert Mod up to date with game patches. Some of the things I have been up to: * I've been switching out more of the Russian models with either British or American items. * Added in/created more desert themed aircraft textures and updated description text in the menu screens. * reworked info.txt files to bring player nominated TAC codes back into the MOD without them overwriting the historical skins in game. most aircraft now have the default skin and the first skin in the main list set to use player applied TAC codes. * updated preview images of new aircraft in main menu windows. * Swapped several of the Russian aircraft over to the Axis side in the main game menu's and repainted them to represent Vichy French aircraft. * Experimenting with new load screen for when main game is starting up. and a whole heap of other edits that are too numerous to go into, I should have kept a rolling commentary of updates and posted here as I made them. but I didn't... a few pictures below of some of the work. Anyway long story short I'll be releasing Version 10 of the Desert Mod hopefully towards the end of August. regards Rob. Edited August 12 by Off_Winters 2 2 1

I'll include the set as an optional install as the use of the torpedo removes the SC_1000kg bomb and replaces it with the torpedo. So, you would only install the torpedo set when you were planning on flying with torpedo's. dropped from approx 900ft and about 0.9m from target, you'll need to aim quite a way in front of your target if its underway. about 1.5 large ship lengths seems to work. pics, torpedo drop, splash down and hit. and main menu torpedo information. regards Rob.
