ArisFuser Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 Is this even a thing? Or Preorders are only available through 1CGS website?
1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted December 2, 2025 1C Game Studios Posted December 2, 2025 No, no until after Early Access ends next year.
Woody Posted December 3, 2025 Posted December 3, 2025 (edited) People have mentioned in the past early access orders were converted into steam keys once the game was released. If this has happened before, could it happen again? I would 100% pre-order the game if I knew I could get a steam copy of the base game. After that I would order everything else from the game store. As we have said elsewhere, more info on Steam access will come when that plan is finalized. 🙂 1 1
CrisPyD Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 When I buy the IL2 series I’m getting it from IL2 Sturmovik not a third party like steam right?
Shinobimono Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 (edited) Steam is a digital distribution platform, store. But here you buy the game directly from developers. So it will be available only directly from your profile on the store page. And maybe since it's pre-order it could be possible to merge it with Steam account at later stages, like it was available with Il-2: Battle of Stalingrad' pre-order. Avimimus Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Yes, if you buy it here you will get your own downloader from the store page. Overall it is a bit more flexible and the developers get to keep a larger share by selling it directly. We still don't have information about when or how Korea will be released on Steam or other third party stores.
Mohawk Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 IL2 Korea = Will IL2 Korea have a new separate downloader ? or use the same IL2 GB downloader ?
Avimimus Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 Most likely separate. It will be a different install.
Shinobimono Posted December 7, 2025 Posted December 7, 2025 It's technologically different game. Different downloader. 1
CrisPyD Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Is IL2 series Korea a stand alone flight sim on this platform ?
CrisPyD Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Thank you very much to those who responded. I’m new to this platform but not new to IL2. I used to play this way back in the early 2000s. I haven’t bought anything yet. I’m just feeling my around I got some flight sim components I’m waiting on before I jump in. I’m excited about IL2series Korea. Jets without all complicated radar and BVR missiles. After I get situated I’ll be looking for squadron to join, but that’s a ways off yet. I just want to talk to people get ideas on equipment and so forth get myself airworthy. It’s nice to know that this a stand alone platform and there are a lot of ppl active on it. I’ll chime in more ltr.
Art-J Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Depends on what you mean by "platform". "Will" be (sometime early 2026) rather than "is", but yes, it's going to be a separate flight sim built on a new game engine. Thus, not quite a part of existing older platform like previous Great Battles series installments (which are just map&plane expansions for one older game). One can say Korea is going to start its own new platform (new game engine) with its own new expansions. Both platforms will share this forum, however, because they share the same development team and publisher.
Aapje Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Yes, it will be separate from the Great Battles platform.

JG27*PapaFIy Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Dear developers, if you develop a tank DLC for Korea, please push the content only to the PCs of players who bought the respective DLC. With GB, I don't like having all that TC and WWI content using up valuable space on my HDD without me ever using it. Many GB game updates are exclusively dedicated to this "dead content". My buddies and I are often frustrated when we have to wait for the dead content to download and install, and then to wait until our favorite MP server has updated, too. 1
Sunbather_ Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I would like to pre-order the game and also apply for the CBT. However, I don't need another launcher in my life. I have purchased almost all modules for Il2 Great Battle on the website here but play exclusively over Steam. So, any news on whether or not we get Steam keys for Il2 Korea if we pre-order?
Reisen Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I hope so! I really, really don't want another launcher.
1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted February 16 1C Game Studios Posted February 16 Hey everyone, this is the latest word on Steam keys, direct from @Han:
RavenSystem Posted February 16 Posted February 16 FYI: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/prepurchase https://ravensystem.github.io/il2_specs/ Intel Core Ultra 285K w/S200 boost / MSI RTX 5080 16GB Inspire 3X OC / MSI Z890 Gaming Plus / DDR5 Kingston Fury Renegade 48GB@8000MT/s / Apple Studio Display / Valve Index
Sunbather_ Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Thank you Luke (and Han)! And sorry for posting my question in the wrong forum subsection. I am hoping now that Steam users will also get a discount when the game released there. I am not against supporting you, obviously, but 180$ is quite a hefty sum. And again, for the protocol: I would pre-order immediately if we got a Steam key further down the line. You might want to ask your colleagues at Owlcat Games; they made alphas and betas available to purchase through their website 3 or 4 times now and always managed to get people a Steam key. I would assume though that a lot of it has got to do with the Owlcat Games not having a launcher but are distributed exclusively through Steam, GOG and all the other distributors out there. While you obviously have a launcher and continue to sell your game through your website even after the game is released. That might be the big difference here. Anyways, thanks for the transparency. One way or the other, I will get the game eventually!
