DOWNLOAD CAMPAIGN (version 7.008)

By early June 1944, the situation along the frontiers of the Reich remains grave, but under control.

In the East, Soviet forces have reached the borders of Romania. In Italy, heavy fighting continues as Anglo-American troops press towards Rome. All the while, our cities and industrial centers endure systematic air raids.

Along the Western Front, however, an uneasy calm still prevails. The fortifications of the Atlantikwall are being reinforced, coastal patrols maintain vigilance, and batteries stand ready for action.

All are aware - the invasion is imminent. Yet no one can say when and where the storm will finally break…

Required: "Battle of Normandy" module, collector vehicle Sd.Kfz.10/5 Flak38

This is a 11 mission Campaign where you drive a AAA half-track on the roads of Normandy. Duration of missions - 15-20 minutes (the first mission takes around 40 minutes). Normally you are required to drive from A to B, and survive long enough - then the current session is terminated and next mission is unlocked.

Pay attention to hints and tips – the HUD should be ON! Overall, if you just follow the crew commander’s orders you won’t get lost.

Note! Mission No.4 is better with “Enable mods” ticked in the Launcher’s settings. This mission doesn’t require any outside mods, I just used Surface Edit to change the map’s vegetation a little and it only appears with mods enabled.

How to install: download the RAR file and unzip it to the Game's root folder of the game.

Special thanks goes out to @kraut1 for recoding audio for this campaign!

S! @Vendigo

First of all, a big thank you for creating such an immersive scripted campaign!

I'm just getting started in the campaign, but I have to say it's a great way to get familiar with the Sd.Kfz. 10 Flak 38.

Here are a few things I noticed in Mission 2 that might be worth tweaking:

  1. Slow truck between Sainteny and Carentan: The slow WWI-era truck caused the car and Flak truck convoy to stop and wait (wave side to side) several times before finally pulling over to let them pass. Maybe a trigger could make it move aside sooner when the car and Flak truck approach?

  2. Oncoming traffic: I almost collided with an old car coming from the opposite direction. I know this is partly due to the game's AI, but perhaps a trigger could help the vehicle pull over when another vehicle approaches?

  3. Fuel truck coming from the opposite direction: Another close call occurred when a fuel truck approached from the opposite direction and almost collided with the car. Perhaps a similar trigger could help prevent this.

  4. Auto-drive and the turn in Carentan: I used auto-drive so I could scan the skies for enemy aircraft (as the gunner). However, after reaching Carentan and taking the first left turn, the Flak truck hit a building. I had to stop and repair it while the car continued toward the final rendezvous point.

Congratulations on the introductory mission! I really enjoyed the overall view of the Atlantikwall. It was a great touch and helped set the scene.

Thanks again for all the work you've put into this campaign. I also shared a link to it in the AAS Discord - Single Player Missions channel so others can check it out!

@GenMarkof007 thank you for the feedback, and for spreading the word! If you encounter more issues, please let me know.

I understand what you point out, and some of it is intentional, like that slow old truck that wouldn't let you pass - it's actually part of the script, like a mundane road situation. Eventually the slow truck gives way, but you could also use your vehicle to block the truck or force it off the road - and let the Horch pass by. I like to use a handgun to threaten the slow driver with a court-martial. Maybe I should have asked @kraut1 to record angry German voice demanding the slow truck to pull aside.

The oncoming traffic issue - I agree it looks a little strange, but all roads are one-way roads so no way around it. In most cases, what you see is normal AI collision-avoiding behaviour. I could use a trigger to smooth it a bit, but still it would be a vehicle driving off the road because it must avoid the other vehicle. So I prefer to think of it as the crazy French driving.

Most of the missions can be driven with autopilot, but sometimes the autopilot is unreliable - including when it comes to city traffic. When you're driving through a city, it's advisable to drive manually. But again, if you get into a little accident you can always repair your truck and be on your way! The Horch chose not to wait for you, but you can still complete the mission.
