IL-2: Truth Prevails

Dear IL-2 Developers and Community,

With the Great Battles series beautifully capturing the iconic fronts of WWII, I want to pitch the series' first official "what-if" expansion module since the days of IL-2 1946.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Truth Prevails (Pravda vítězí) is a hypothetical campaign set between October 1st, 1938, and May 1939. It explores the timeline where President Beneš rejected the Munich Agreement, forcing a localized, high-stakes war between Czechoslovakia and Nazi Germany.

This pack is built around the classic 8 Standard Planes + 2 Collector Planes DLC structure, offering a unique meta where peak-era biplanes clash with early monoplanes.

The Map: The Bohemian Fortress

  • Scale: Approximately 207,000 square kilometres covering all of Western Czechoslovakia (Bohemia, Moravia, and the Sudetenland), extending into the historical German border regions of Silesia, Saxony, and Austria.
  • Key Features: The dense, mountainous terrain of the Sudetenland lined with concrete bunker lines (the "Czechoslovak Wall"), heavy industrial complexes in Prague and Pilsen (Škoda works), and forward Luftwaffe grass airfields.

Czechoslovak Air Force (Československé letectvo)

  • Avia B.534 IV (Fighter): The pinnacle of classic biplane design. Features an enclosed cockpit and 4x 7.92mm vz. 30 machine guns. It will easily out-turn any monoplane in a low-altitude dogfight.
  • Letov Š-328 (Light Bomber / Recon): A rugged, utility biplane capable of carrying light bomb loads. Perfect for low-level tactical harassment of German panzer columns navigating narrow mountain passes.
  • Avia B-71 (Medium Bomber): A license-built Soviet Tupolev SB, upgraded with powerful French Hispano-Suiza 12Y engines. This gives the Czechs a remarkably fast level-bomber that can outrun early German fighters at altitude.
  • Aero MB.200 (Heavy Bomber): A blocky, license-built French night bomber. Extremely slow but heavily armed with defensive machine-gun turrets, offering a fantastic multi-crew "flying fortress" experience for coordinated multiplayer raids.

German Luftwaffe

  • Messerschmitt Bf-109 D-1 (Fighter): The "Dora." Powered by the Junkers Jumo 210 engine and armed with 4x 7.92mm MG 17s. It acts as the Luftwaffe's premier energy fighter, relying on boom-and-zoom tactics to survive the agile Czech biplanes.
  • Henschel Hs-123 A-1 (Close Air Support): A legendary, durable biplane dive-bomber. It can carry a 250kg bomb or underwing anti-infantry containers, built specifically to survive intense ground fire over heavy fortifications.
  • Dornier Do-17 E-1 (Medium Bomber): The early "Flying Pencil." Stripped down and optimized strictly for speed over armor, requiring tight fighter escorts to survive interceptions.
  • Junkers Ju-86 G-1 (Medium/Heavy Bomber): Powered by unique Junkers Jumo 205 diesel engines. This adds a highly requested early-war heavy multi-crew option to the Axis roster.

Premium Collector Planes

  • Avia B-35 (Allied Premium): A sleek, modern monoplane prototype with an elegant elliptical wing that historically flew in late 1938. In this scenario, production is rushed to give the Czechs a direct technological counter to the Bf-109.
  • Junkers Ju-87 A-1 (Axis Premium): The early "Anton" variant of the Stuka. Features oversized trouser-style landing gear fairings and a weaker Jumo engine, making energy management and steep dive-bombing precision highly rewarding.

Except this isn't just some DLC, but a whole new map and one set in Europe, at that which effectively makes it a new simulator for Series IL-2.

This is more of a topic for suggestions.

The next one is supposed to be the Pacific (PTO) WWII, which users are eagerly awaiting, so I’m afraid I have to disappoint you.

I know the next one will be somewhere in the Pacific Theatre. And I’m very much looking forwards to it.

Just wanting to ask one question out of genuine curiosity: what is the difference between a DLC and a module?

This is just an idea for a long way down the track when IL-2 Series has grown, and covered a lot of the major battles and campaigns of WWII. I would like to see a couple of What If scenarios - given that they are feasible and follow the most likely outcome.
