Profile inspector will let you access them.  It's default points to the launcher, may want to set up a new one direct to Il2Series.exe.

New version of inspector is much more user friendly, you can type IL2 into the search and it finds the exe instantly.

I also set the NIS sharpening to use the directX12 sharpening, haven't tested it out yet.  It isn't set for 12 in the profile.

Got the Cheeky DLSS working on my HP Reverb G2 with an early version of windows 11 before they removed WMR. Its fantastic. Everything is so clear and fantastic FPS, Such a game changer.

I have one problem. I have to use OpenXR toolkit enabled other wise I get the black circle in the vr headset but not on the mirror of the vr screen shown on the 2d screen. It seems that if I use anything apart from FSR I get the black circle.

Is there any way I can get rid of OpenXR toolkit and not have the black circle?

In IL-2 Korea? OpenXR Toolkit it is not recommended for IL-2 Korea; it even causes CTDs in some situations. Give VectorXR a try; it works great and it works with Cheeky Foveated DLSS without issue.

There is a strange issue with VectorXR. While you have snap views activated, you have to look completely in front of you for snap views to be activated correctly. I mean if you look at little angle say 2-3 degrees by the time you press the snap view keys it will not work. How do you cope with it?

I on my end snap views works as independent, doesn't matter where I'm looking when I active them, but that was in version 0.16 , didn't check new one.

I've got this rolling now and its pretty cool. however it seems to be really clear in cockpit but more blurry outside. I tried supersampling the inner circle and a few other presets but not much luck.  Im running it is Open VR using sboys3

I tried it in OpenVR too, it wasn't as good as in OpenXR.

VectorXR layer should always be above Cheeky or you may experience some issues with some features, you can use VectorXR itself to arrange the layer order, another one of it's great features.  Use the arrows circled in red to set the order.OpenXRlayers.jpg.fd770c28cfa3e52fe0149557d0be4ead.jpg

Has anyone else found their F8-menu cursor not working since updating the game? Possibly VectorXR borked it but as I updated the game and re-installed Vector both before playing it I don't know which is guilty. Seven hours of fixing stuff today after the whole shebang went sideways, the cursor is the last thing left and I've run out of ideas.

So that's both VectorXR and OFXR-Bridge tested with Cheeky's DLSS and in both cases, at least for high-end GPUs, "computer says no". lol. Cheeky's is the holy grail. 🙂

I managed to run both, but I have to move Cheekys layer down. VectorXR has more FG  options to tweaked, I also can run 100hz without Cheekys just fine with FSR AA or MSAA. FSR AA looks good without upscaling and perform better than DLAA (m). No  ghosting on fast moving objects. Latency is very low with VectorXR FG.

I asked this question before but the answer was a bit vague: Can Cheeky be used to make an eyetracked foveated area that is AA'd more than the surrounding, lower resolution/AAd area?

I don't like DLSS solutions, just want crisp video.

Yes, it works with plain DLAA switched on, and has a slider to boost it's own Super Sampling within the DLAA foveated zone.

Confusion. The API's menu says "DLSS" for the foveated region but "DLAA" for the peripheral one. I'm about to get into that with Aevum (Chat-GPT, lol), I want to know what gives the best performance...DLAA off or DLAA on but with the slider down low. I can see that with it off the peripheral appears very nice, with it on and set low it's a pixelated soup. Yes, I've tested it but the FPS doesn't show a clear difference.

Turn off DLSS, select DLAA in game, turn on the red eye tracker circle and scramble the outer view ring to minimum, it works just fine.

Ooh! Is that betterer than DLSS center, DLAA peripheral?

Not for me, it costs too much this time around, maybe on your 5090 though.

No. By better I mean more FPS/lower FT.

How to activate DLSS 5 and get the Cheeky NR working.

Go here,

https://github.com/NVIDIA/DLSS/releases

You only need one file, the nvngx_dlss.dll inside the bin/ngx_dlss_demo folder.  Put that file in the same folder as IL2Series.exe.

You can already run it, but NVIDIA recommends you run it Preset C, to do that use profile inspector and set these in the IL2Series.exe profile itself. inspectornr.jpg.fa84b1ac4010e8c632d8c89931d2e9aa.jpg

There's a hit in FPS, but it's not that bad.  Got to say the tracers and gun sight you get out of the deal are well worth it.  It actually fixes them very good.

Lol. Not sure what he was wanting to show off in that video but the image inside the green ring is godawful. Some kind of weird corruption going on.

I think  presets A/B/C are for FG (frame generation).

DLSS NR use styles standard/normal/cinematic.

I'm using newest DLSS5 extracted from NBY2K and enebed it from Checky on full screen 2D , plus I'm running it before upscaling which gives me  20 FPS more. Without DLSSA NR i have 180 fps , with it enebed 140 fps , when I use DLSS NR after upscaling fps are around 120. All this with DLSS quality present M. Other preset  like K/J are significantly faster but contact ghosting is visible.
