Cpt.Stall_McAugerin Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I havent flown much since CloD. I blew out both shoulders, just wrapped up surgery #12 4 months ago.. Finally have a replacement shoulder. Imagine being absent since Clod , with a lil taste of Great Battles, then IL2 Korea releases just as you are able to fly again.. YEAH! I look forward to VR getting a lot better, but I need to jump from 8X to a Clarity model Pimax anyway : )) I can only fly an hour or so in VR anyway, then I turn light green. 2
AndreiTomescu Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Despite the opinion of many guys here (opinion that i respect, although not embrace) CloD was an excellent sim for me, a huge jump from the original Il-2 1946. You've missed the rich content of Il-2 GB, but also its shortcomings, that became more obvious over years, along with the inability to fix them. With this new iteration, Korea, everything has been taken to the next generation/level, and for this title the devs are optimistic in fixing its many bugs. So you've awaken 🙂 just in time for the future becoming present. Welcome back! Oreoreeeoyeero!
Hetstaine Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Jumped back in at the right time Stall, Clod was a ways back now..but the future..we eatin' good. Edited September 28 by Hetstaine I7 12700k-5070TI-32GB-49"Odyssey VKBGunfighter/Stecs/TMpeds/BoeingPit/Delanpro

AndreiTomescu Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) 1C Games 's CloD = Clouds over Dover. First 1C games did Il-2 Sturmovik, then it expanded into the final version, called 1946, then Rise of Flight, then they got out this gem that eventually went somehow wrong, Cliffs of Dover, then it's African expansion, Tobruk, then the vast Il-2 Great Battles started, Flying Circus including, and now....Korea. All of these are 1C Games products. 6 hours ago, Sashka13 said: And what kind of game is this? So, it's the same excellent kind of flight sim, dedicated to the Battle of Britain, made by the same 1C games, but quite old now. Edited September 29 by AndreiTomescu Clouds over Dover....really?? am I getting old??? :) 1 1 Oreoreeeoyeero!
AndreiTomescu Posted September 29 Posted September 29 CloD had many shortcomings, that eventually led to its early demise, but as strong points I would humbly notice: - graphics beyond imagination for its times - excellent AI, even better than today's unimproved yet, after some patches really hope for next level - wonderfull campaigns, great stories 1 1 Oreoreeeoyeero!

У нас эта игра называется Cliffs of Dover. Я в своё время приобрёл её и Тобрук тоже, но она привязана к Steem. А стим у меня сейчас не работает к сожалению. We call this game *Cliffs of Dover*. I bought it—and *Tobruk* too—back in the day, but it’s tied to Steam. Unfortunately, Steam isn't working for me right now. AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3D, AMD Radeon RX9060 XT 16Gb, оперативка 32Gb.

FuriousMeow Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) RoF was not 1C, it was 777. Initial Il2 Battle of Stalingrad was also not 1C either, 1C eventually picked up this team but it was mostly done outside of 1C. Maybe 1C joined with 777 to create the Il2 Battle of series. Cliffs was done by some of the 1946 team but led by Ilya and not Oleg. Two completely different teams did il2 sturmovik through 1946 and CloD vs Rof - Battle of series - FC/GB - Korea. AndreiTomescu Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) 1C Game Studios is connected to 777 Studios because it was founded in 2012 as a joint venture between 1C Company and 777 Studios. • The Partnership: The two entities joined forces to combine resources and expertise for developing flight simulation and online multiplayer games. • Notable Games: Together, they worked on titles like entries in the IL-2 Sturmovik series. • Current Status: Over time, the studio evolved and operates under the broader umbrella of 1C Game Studios structure. Il-2 1946 was released in 2006 by 1C Maddox Games. Cliffs od Dover by 1C:Maddox Games was released in 2011 777 Studios and 1C Company officially merged their flight simulation operations by forming a joint venture called 1C Game Studios on December 11, 2012. The partnership combined 1C Company's famous IL-2 Sturmovik combat flight simulator franchise with 777 Studios' advanced simulation technology (known for Rise of Flight) to develop future flight simulators, starting with IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad. So, the 1C Games Studios of today(GB & Korea parent) = both 1C Maddox (1946 & CloD parent) + 777 Games (RoF parent) I think I was imprecise, but not utterly wrong. Although it's not that important and I gladly drop hat and keep gloves to avoid a useless argument. Edited September 29 by AndreiTomescu 1 1 Oreoreeeoyeero!
robzerg Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) That's possibly the official version, but my impression was always that 1C Maddox made such a mess of the release of CloD that they were given the heave-ho and the franchise was handed to 777 Studios for all future titles, who'd done excellent work with Rise of Flight (which was much more technically impressive than CloD). I don't remember there being much of a merger between the two studios, other than for looks perhaps. Looking at the timescales 777 did a pretty impressive turnaround, getting the keys to the franchise in 2012 and releasing BoS in 2014! Edited October 2 by robzerg
FuriousMeow Posted October 2 Posted October 2 That's not exactly correct either. 1C Game Studios is 1C Company + 777 for the Il2 Battle of series. 1C Maddox is a different entity. RoF was done by neoqb that was then led by 777. Which then led to the newer Il2 series. The previous Il2 Sturmovik through 1946 and CloD were done by a totally different team. I don't really care, but the two teams are absolutely not related. 1
