Do Engine "Timers" exist in Korea ??

Based on what was covered in the Briefing Room videos. Korea uses a system that was much more difficult to develop: Great Battles was mainly developed using historical guidelines (e.g. manuals). For Korea, the developers did extensive research into the history of the engine development to identify which parts of the engines were the likely sources of failure and under what conditions. So, it is essentially a more complex and engine specific simulation. If you run your engine outside of its design parameters for too long - it can fail though.

In practice, it's the same old timers as before. As an example, P-51 engine fails at the exact same time after you "exceed the limits". They provided a setting to turn this questionable mechanic off, but it's currently not working although the bug was created since the 0.00x version.

Submit this in the correct forum, along with how you are producing the behaviour in the simulation and historical evidence that the behaviour is wrong: https://forum.il2-series.com/forum/58-technical-issues-and-bug-reports/

For now it's similar to GB but they said they are about to implement more realistic engine damege model.

Could you give a link to the source of this statement?

Near-term plans in dev blog #84:

"A more realistic engine-damage model for exceeding the permitted operating time at combat or takeoff power. It will account for the heating of valves and piston rings: burn damage can reduce compression and eventually lead to engine seizure"

That sounds future tense.  Do you think this is currently working or has it yet to be integrated?

This has already been reported on Discord and passed on to devs quite a while ago.

I recognise that (although I haven't personally looked into the detailed engineering evidence for Korea). My point was intended to be that this is the wrong thread in the wrong forum. 🙂
