Ringlett Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:23 PM (edited) May I ask, purely theoretically, if it would be possible to create this? Personally, I think it could be done with minimal costs on the part of the game developers and with relatively little effort. A) Spitfire F.Mk.Vc model 1942 We have the Mk.Vb Model 1941 available, equipped with Merlin 45 and 46 engines. The game also features the Spitfire Mk.IXc Model 1944. By combining the fuselage of the original Mk.Vb (1941 model) with the wings and cockpit (including the interior) from the Mk.IXc (1944), it would be possible to create a Spitfire Mk.Vc (1942 model). B) Spitfire Mk.IX, 1943 model, F, LF and HF When using performance data for the V-1650 engine from the Mustang Mk.III and the physical model of the Spitfire Mk.IXc or e, 1944 model (with a Merlin 66 engine). The V-1650-3 or 7 is actually a Merlin 65 (with an American carburetor and other components that are completely irrelevant for a flight model), which is essentially a British Merlin 61. The Merlin 63 is modification of M66 for high altitude. The Merlin 70 (HF version model 1944 and later) is already included in the game. Merlin 66 too. Quote Actually, a Spitfire Mk.IXc (1942 model) would work, too. You’d just have to replace the air intake on the proposed 1943 model with the one from the Mk.V version. I don’t think the Merlin 61 is a problem either. B) Spitfire Mk.XVI Model 1945 - bubble top A combination of the Spitfire Mk.IXe Model 1944 flight model from the game and the fuselage of the Spitfire Mk.XIVe from the engine bulkhead to bulkhead No. 19. This section differs only in the opening for the side and bottom cameras, which, however, some Mk.XVIs were also equipped with. Maybe I'm oversimplifying things, but it seems to me that some versions of the Bf 109 were developed this way as well. I suppose I could imagine buying these machines as collector's items. I apologize for my curiosity and thank you for your reply. Ringlett Edited Wednesday at 05:47 PM by Ringlett 1 1 https://ringlett.blogspot.com/
