Wonderful news and beautiful, detailed buildings!  Now get me my torpedo-armed VVS Douglas A-20G Boston for anti shipping strikes and I'll really be a happy camper! 😀

Awesome! - Thank you very much! - @Snipermanx - do you happen to know if AQMB options are still planned for some of the Odessa and Leningrad maps?

Great update, the map updates look amazing! And a Finland flying career as well, that's pretty exciting!

Leningrad 1941 (as well as 44) will end up being the longest careers at 8 months each btw

That, plus 2 bite-sized careers in Odessa at 4 months each.

Compare that to the careers we have currently, averaging about 6 months, the shortest being Normandy at 4 months and the longest being Bodenplatte at approx. 7 months.

I was hoping for at least one or two instant missions for Tank Crew on these new maps. There were many historic battles fought on this turf.

The new Korea Dev Blog and GB Dev Blog put together let me with a gaping mouth in awe.

It seems that you guys found an incredible source of financing and team size to finally do all what we could dream of.

Put together we have everything: player controlled twin bombers, four engine bomber, carrier, jets, ,helicopter and who knows what else.

I need to scratch my head to find what I can ask just to ask for something. Ah yes I did find a few things for GB:

1) Can you make the Thrustmaster Hotas in native mode directly integrated in GB like you have done in Korea, and that I appreciate a lot.

I do not like to mess with the Thrustmaster Target Editor and GUI.

2) Can you have a pilot when ditching or when parachuting in the sea be floating with a Mae West or small dinghy, and so staying alive and randomly drowning also from time to time.

And yes it is not Christmas yet but we already have the gifts here.

Odessa career could last longer:

the fights around odessa could start from 26.03.1944 or earlier

Probably all soviet bases were too far outside of GB's Odessa map area at this time? That is my guess...

Does this mean Finnish voices will be added?

I’m not a developer nor the CM but my two cents is, probably not. I would love for this to happen but given that such an animation hasn’t been added since BOK was released in 2018 then it’s probably a  rather large undertaking and not worth doing when priorities have shifted to Korea where such a thing has been added.

I reached out to Regingrave about this in 2022 who forwarded it onto Han and basically a swimming animation is the only route. If they were to make it so that the pilot simply didn’t die when parachuting into a lake or sea many things would have to be adjusted to the point where a swimming animation would be the easiest route.

Looks Amazing, can't wait.

Is there any chance the skip time feature from Korea could be ported to Great Battles? It would be a huge QoL improvement.

Would be wonderful if the next devblog to be hearing from Karttakompania team, on what to expect on the Finnish career and perhaps also teasers on the plane set they were working on.

Can't wait to see the gulf of Finland expansions, seasonal expansions, and careers for these two regions.  The amount of work you all are putting into this is remarkable - Thank You!

LOTS of fantastic news & scenery in these recent blogs - thank you again Dev Team for all the hard work!  It does feel a little like early Christmas.  :classic_biggrin:

Really looking forward to all of this, both for Korea and GB - now I just need to make more time to go enjoy it all!  Much appreciated, fellas.  Keep it comin'!

Wow these maps both look insane for old IL2 GB. Well done.

Any chance they can give this team a crack at updating all the GB maps to this standard? I love all the custom and unique buildings. You can tell a lot of love and care went into making these maps.

After the update it will be time for a sight seeing flight to find all landmark buildings. 🙂

Thanks for the information. Any chance 1C  know what the progress is on the unfinished planes? I know those 3D models were built outside 1C, but there hasn't been any information about them since 2024. Was the project dropped, or are they still in development?

Yes, you are right; the northern and eastern boundaries of the map allow for starting the career around March 23rd. However, as @Kubert rightly noted, Soviet aviation had not yet redeployed to airfields within the game map - that only happened in early April. There were also major difficulties in reconstructing the front lines within the sector of the 2nd Ukrainian Front. Almost no maps had survived, so they had to be reconstructed based on troop-position reports found in combat logs.
