Cardolan Posted September 2 Posted September 2 (edited) I am having serious difficulties to see the non concrete airfield runways in winter, leading to all sorts of mischaps while landing. Is this some kind of realistic issue being simulated or are the textures plain confusing? Anyone knows if there is a mod to increase the visibility of the runways in snow? Thank you all in advance! taffy2 Posted September 3 Posted September 3 Try a low pass to try and make out structures, rows of revetments and hangers usually run parallel with the runway, and if using navigational markers a blue marker should highlight the correct end of the runway to make your approach and land. Good Luck
Gutholz Posted September 3 Posted September 3 If the runway is grass with snow on top and the surrounding area is also grass with snow on top then there will be only subtile visible differences, if at all. Often buildings and flak positions are roughly in a square or circle with a free area in the middle. Some frontline airfields are just small buildings and supply stacks hidden in the treeline, these can be hard to spot. Often the airfield has some kind of taxiway or at least trail all around its border. Look for the biggest area with a path looping around it and it should be somewhat safe to land inside there. In multiplayer runways and take-off + landing direction are often marked with a T sign (white on grass, black on snow) and sometimes two smoking fires. Land in the direction of the T.
