I'd love to see planes with functioning radar, but currently there's a significant problem with the appearance of nighttime. This leaves much to be desired. I don't have the good lighting, proper reflections, for example, on clouds, or proper nighttime lighting from the night sky and moon. This makes nighttime even unplayable. I hope they fix this, and then I'll ask for planes with radar; that could be a fun and interesting playgame. 👍

Any chance your screen is set to crush low values? There is moon lighting albeit quite dim. If a screen is set to "black values - low" or something in those lines, it will crush everything low into a flat black color.

Default gamma? I saw others screenshots more brightly lit. 🤔
I can see the different values on my monitor but there is a lot of color banding.

Perhaps a gamma a bit higher on the sim taking in consideration the day time as well can be a fix.

My night lighting is different.

Edit: Read the thread. Is VR related. I see.
It doesn't apply to me.

HDR on.

These screenshots also show a noticeable color gradation. That's also a big problem. Just look at the sky and clouds. I don't use HDR as well.

To not hijack the thread any further:

If there are six new planes, at least 2 of them being red is nice.
La-9 is a gem to have in it. 😀

These are from the bitmap compression.

In sim is clear.

I use HDR.

HDR only in sim.

Non HDR monitor.

Try these two graphical options in-game:

Cloud Quality set to, at minimum, HIGH
HDR set to ENABLED (Does not require HDR monitor)

Setting HDR to enabled in-game seems to alleviate the color banding effect for everything BUT certain cloud thicknesses.

Then, with the cloud quality set to high, the color banding for certain cloud thickness is no longer an issue.

I have noticed there is still a color banding issue with aluminum reflections, but it is minor by comparison.

On my RTX 3070 8gb, I didn't notice a performance hit with these settings... and the visual difference is striking.
