Joystick button performing two separate actions when pressed

When I press CM Device 1 button 6 (windows and CH Control Manager/ joy0_b5 in GB) on my CH Fighter Stick it toggles the gunsight mode which is what I assigned it too do.

Suddenly today I noticed that not only is the gunsight mode toggling in these planes, but simultaneously Change in game map also toggles. This never happened before.

So I went back into settings and reassigned the joystick button to Gunsight Mode Toggle.  Now when I press the joystick button to assign it the Letter M shows.  I retry and once again the letter M shows.  I retry a third time and joy0_b5 shows.  I launch a quick start and when I press joy0_b5 both the minimap and gunsight mode toggles simultaneously.

This only happens in IL-2GB.  It does not occur in IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 stock or modded games, DCS, Aces High III.  DX mode is checked in the CH Contol manager where it is assigned CM Device 1 Button 6.  The issue is not the joystick button nor the CH Control Manager Software.

Anyone have this happen to one of their joystick buttons?

I have no idea how the letter M is being assigned to joy0_b5 in the game.  I checked the mapping and profile files and they reflect M for Change ingame map and joy0_b5 for gunsight mode toggle (both Global and Custom profiles).
