YossarianWitt Posted August 15 Posted August 15 Hear me out! The multimenu in KOREA is perfect for anyone who doesn’t have a full HOTAS setup. I only have a Thrustmaster joystick, and memorizing all the button combinations would be a nightmare. The multimenu is a fantastic feature that would be great to have in the IL-2 Great Battles as well. Do you know if a similar quality-of-life update is being considered for this game as well?
Doesnotexist Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I've played IL2 for years without HOTAS. At first with joystick that I honestly can't recall the brand, then a Logitech 3D Pro, migrated to a T Flight Hotas and now I'm using a Raptor Mach 2 - just the stick. I've never felt like I needed more than 6 buttons, that is because I always had the keyboard near me. Before getting my Pico 4, I would use the joystick hat plus Shift, Ctrl and Alt modifiers to adjust the pilot's head, I always bind all of the engine's configuration to 1 to 6 with modifiers - Ex: RPM 1 /2, Mixture 3/4, Water Radiator Shift 1/2, Oil Radiator Shift 3/4... Everything else has been pretty straight foward, G for Gear, : for breaks, B for boost... With that said: I don't think it will be possible for them to migrate the UI from Korea to Great Battles, one of the main reasons for that is probably that they changed their game engine, and functionally, although the game is similar, Battle of Stalingrad is already 12 years old. This is actually something that has been bothering me, I bought Il2 BOS when it released back on Steam, and it feels like there will be now real way of connecting both games beyond the title. It also makes me question about the direction that the series is going, as content wise, I don't think Korea will be able to offer a lot. Time will tell.
