BlitzPig_EL Posted August 4 Posted August 4 I can't seem to remember how this worked in the old sim, and am trying to figure it out but have hit a wall. I see the resaver in tools, but cannot make it work.
Moro Posted August 4 Posted August 4 This is inside a .bat file in the resaver folder. Quote MissionResaver.exe -d C:\IL2Series\data -f C:\IL2Series\data\Multiplayer\Dogfight\Mission.mission rem echo off rem first path should point to the main data folder rem second path shold point at the mission file to be re-saved rem mission file itself, text localization files, binary mission file and .list file will be re-saved

I see the resaver in tools, but cannot make it work. There is a bat file that gives an example. If you run the missionresaver exe in a cmd box with help after it lists the parms usage eg MissionResaver.exe -d C:\IL2Series\data -f C:\IL2Series\data\Multiplayer\Dogfight\Mission.mission rem echo off rem first path should point to the main data folder rem second path shold point at the mission file to be re-saved rem mission file itself, text localization files, binary mission file and .list file will be re-saved pause Intel Ultra9 285K, ROG Strix Z890-A, 32 GB RAM, RTX 5070 Ti 16GBVRAM and driver 591.86, Win11 Pro, Saitek Pro Flight Combat pedals, Warthog HOTAS, TM Cougar MFDs, Monitor resolution 2560x1440 at 164kHz using G-Sync. Once you have a mission open, select the tools drop down list, select resave all missions in folder, browse to the game folder containing the missions you want to update, click OK, and wait until the window closes when the process is complete. I find it much faster to delete the .msnbin file manually, open the game in the ME, save it and close it. I think it takes less than half the time that way and accomplishes the same task. 1 Ryzen 7 7800X3D l 32GB DDR5-6000 l RX 7900 XTX 24GB - AMD Adrenalin V.26.6.4 l HP Reverb G2 I Windows 11 Home

If an update to the sim changes how something in a mission works or adds a new feature to an existing mission element, you may need to resave missions you or someone else created so they work again. You don't need to update missions that come with the sim. Edited August 5 by JimTM 1

Third party tools like the Easy Mission Generator and PWCG build a mission and use resaver to create the actual mission files. Now mission resaver is here for Korea I am hoping Easy Mission Generator for IL2 Korea will arrive assuming Vander has spare time to rework it from the IL2 GB version. 1 Intel Ultra9 285K, ROG Strix Z890-A, 32 GB RAM, RTX 5070 Ti 16GBVRAM and driver 591.86, Win11 Pro, Saitek Pro Flight Combat pedals, Warthog HOTAS, TM Cougar MFDs, Monitor resolution 2560x1440 at 164kHz using G-Sync. The mission generator creates *.Mission files—text files containing the mission data—which are typically large in size. The Mission Editor (ME) then uses the "Resarver" tool to generate an *msbin* file; this file is much lighter and suitable for sharing in online matches. While not strictly necessary, using this process is highly recommended. The standalone Resarver tool is intended for users who wish to create dynamic campaigns by pulling data from a previous mission; they can then modify or create a *.Mission file (which will likely be very large) and use Resarver to generate the corresponding *msbin* file. Please excuse my English. 1
