SwamiGorlomi Posted August 4 Posted August 4 (edited) Oi! Hey all, Running into a persistent micro-stutter issue. Everytime a gun burst connects with a new aerial target I experience a micro stutter almost without fail. Subsequent hits on the same target do not produce the stutter, it's always on the first direct hit on a fresh target, which makes it seem more like a game state/logic issue than CPU/GPU bottleneck. But I'm by no means a developer so take that as you will. I also had this problem occasionally in BoX, which more often than not would lead to input desync and my guns would be stuck firing until I pulled the trigger again. I have had this happen in Korea a couple times, but the hit stutter is extremely consistent. At the least it's annoying, and at the worst has completely frozen my game twice. I've only observed this in single player as I haven't played much multiplayer yet, but it has been consistent through early access. Running - i7 14700k, 4070ti Super 16gb, 32gb ddr5, SSD This sim is absolutely wonderful. Cheers broskis! Edited August 4 by SwamiGorlomi not specific enough on one detail. 2

1C Game Studios LukeFF Posted August 5 1C Game Studios Posted August 5 Does this happen with a particular plane, weapon loadout, target, etc?
SwamiGorlomi Posted August 8 Author Posted August 8 I've tested this in every Air Combat exam. When I score the first hit on an aircraft or they score the first hit on MY aircraft it causes the stutter. Again i'm no game dev, but I am a passionate hobbyist. This almost certainly has to do with how/when the damage models are instanced. Pretty upsetting for how consistent it is after shelling out over 100 bones. I know there is no such thing as a perfect piece of software but this really is a bummer I truly love these games.
cesarcventura Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) Im having exactly the same problem. I get a micro-stutter with every plane, when i hit any plane. Im running a ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb of ram and a RX 7700 XT and the game is installed on an SSD. Graphics are on balanced and at 1440p, im running stable at higher than 60fps Edited August 11 by cesarcventura
YoYo Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) I might not have noticed it with aircraft (but then again, I don't fly AtoA much), but it's exactly the same with ground targets 90% of the time. The first explosion (the first time the effect is loaded) can sometimes cause the entire image to be cut off for that half-second. After that, it disappears and everything is fine; the explosions don't affect the simulator's performance. First fire + explosion = usually a slight cutoff. Something's wrong with the process. cesarcventura Posted August 11 Posted August 11 I came back to say the same with respect to aircraft. When you hit them for the first time you get a stutter, not the following times. 1 1
KoN Posted August 13 Posted August 13 This same same. R5 - 5500X3D - ASROCK - B55O - RTX4070S - LEXAR - 48GB - PICO NEO 3 LINK DP.
cesarcventura Posted Friday at 11:41 PM Posted Friday at 11:41 PM Its been fixed for me, it only happens on the "exams" missions.
ComputerJones Posted Sunday at 08:17 AM Posted Sunday at 08:17 AM (edited) It'd been awhile since this happened to me, but it happened in a weird way tonight. I was attacking a flight of IL-10s, had already downed two of them, and then got a high-aspect shot on another when the hit registration stutter happened. When this would happen before it was the first registered damage in a given mission, but this time was clearly not the case. There's a chance I had killed the pilot/gunner with that shot, so maybe that's the trigger? Was flying the F-80C, shooting .50 cal (API-T, API, API, API, API load) Edited Sunday at 08:18 AM by ComputerJones
