Steam Key availability?

I purchased the Founder's Edition awhile ago to better support 1C, but I prefer to have all of my games in Steam. Is or will there be a steam key available to place IL-2 Korea into my steam library?

You will not own it on steam. It works on only on GB sadly.

I'm a Founder's Edition player, I can understand some ideas of the developers. But, for me, the steam more convenient than IL2 store, the download speed more fast, payment more easy. If I have both key at IL2 store and steam,  I‘ll always use the steam to play. 

I think, at least, for Founder's Edition player, it's necessary sent a key for steam, just for starting the game from steam. If  I can't get a key at steam, I have to by it at steam again, that' mean I'll pay for Korea twice, this may affect my subsequent purchase desire of DLC.

Same here.. I absolutly agree. I supported to 100% with buying the Founders Edition here... but I am using only steam to play my PC games.. 😕

You understand that it costs money for devs to give out Steam keys? They don't just spawn out of thin air.

 

I don't wanna be harsh, but these are the consequences of your own decisions. Have some impulse control. If you knew you wanted Steam so bad then wait and buy it there when available... The devs never committed to providing Steam keys.

The license keys and installation won't be managed by Valve, but I believe you can still add the game to your steam library:

I don’t think that is a fair comment and I don’t see why you are responding instead of the Devs, like @Han or @LukeFF

I bought the Founder’s edition last December to help support the Devs and fund the project. I assumed this would work like GB where you purchase on the site and receive the game through STEAM. There was nothing mentioned in the preorder post or the store page that STEAM keys would not be included. If the Devs were going to change the policy from GB, this should have been expressly flagged. The DCS store page and policy expressly say that product purchased on site cannot be used on STEAM.

Personally, the reason I like to have my games on STEAM is because of the download speeds. This site has atrocious download speeds, patches dribble in at 5-10 mbps while I regularly see download speeds of 150-175 mbps on STEAM. 
 

If it had been expressly flagged at the beginning that preorders did not come with STEAM keys, I would probably have held off and waited to buy the game on STEAM. At this point, it does feel like preorder customers were misled.

They cannot possibly list out all the things that are NOT included, that's not a fair expectation for any product. If Steam was not listed, you should not assume it's included based on an experience from 13 years ago.

Also, you know that they did not give Steam keys for any other release after Stalingrad (?), it only worked via linked accounts because it was the same client being installed with all the assets. Pretty sure the policy to give steam keys ended many years ago for any purchase on their site (major battle or collector planes) although im open to being corrected if i got that wrong.

This is kind of upside down logic. Why do you expect something not specified as included to be included? 

If they had stated they would give steam key i could understand the problem, but why do you expect something based only on your personal conclusion?

Nevertheless I share the disappointment of the OP. Beeing also a Founders Edition Pre-Orderer ( and also to support the Dev team ) I now learn that I will not have Korea on Steam which is a pity since all of my other titles are there. I somehow thought that ‚of course‘ this will be possible ( without thinking about … true )

Maybe an extra fee for a steam key ( to cover costs ) could be a good idea.

Or just wait until Korea is on Steam for 19.99 and buy it a second time..

Add a non-steam game to my steam library can't meet my needs. 

As some players said, I bought the Founder’s edition to help support the Devs and fund the project. If weren't for this purpose, I wil waiting for the game to be sold on steam or even discounted.

Considering the development process of BOS, developers should clearly state whether to provide steam key when pre-order, just like DCS. Unfortunately, they didn't do it. As I mentioned earlier, I understand developers, but it also affect my purchase desire to buy DLCs in future.

I'm sorry, but we told people quite often during the pre-order period that Steam keys would not be provided.
