Help with minimap and map controls

I've navigation aid off so I my plane doesn't show in map (N) or minimap (M). I'd like to use the minimap for navigating but I can't figure out how to move it. With navigation aid on the minimap automatically centers on your plane. 

 

Is there command for the big map to zoom in and out other than mouse wheel? I would like to zoom the map with joystick buttons but there is no command. I can move the map with cursor control (ministick) that I have bound to joystick hat controls.

Edit: Zoom is UI Focus next / prev. 

 

So in short I'm trying to get full map controls without using mouse.

Full map is virtually unusable in night sorties, there is no longer any opacity settings I can find for it to dim it.  You open it at night and instantly lost all your night vision flying in VR, it's painfully bright.  Mini-map is pretty much useless for navigation and even worse for planning, can't scroll it, can't zoom in, at least I haven't figured out any way to use it.
