Kimmer Posted August 3 Posted August 3 Where is the installation of Kuban autumn map Beta 8 in the last year’s new Sicily campaign https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/92137-150-gct-gigi-tre-osei-campaign-sicily-summer-1943/
kraut1 Posted August 3 Posted August 3 In the campaign download are no map elements included: If you want to remove the Kuban / Russian City Labels you can install with JSGME the neutral GUI mapstiles by Off_Winters, I have published this info 2 years ago too: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/piflkidp7caj5yl4eui37/Kuban-unlabeled-GUI-map-by_Off_Winters-v01.zip?rlkey=12w6yo59vch9qelef9agzv4mn&st=9jaghwy2&dl=0 And there are somewhere in the forums some nice mediterrean map textures for the Kuban MAp, I think by @BOB2026. I have some older versions of these but he is the creator and the specialist for this topic...
kraut1 Posted August 4 Posted August 4 ...added later: the Kuban Autumn Mod by Off_Winters is absolutely great, but it is not just a map mod, it is a "total modification" of IL-2 Great Battles. So of course you could try to fly the campaign with this mod installed but maybe there are some other effects by the mod... The oldest available version of this mod is from Oct 2025 (in the old forum ) and maybe fits to the campaign. But if you install this mod you have Tunisian town labels....
JollyJack Posted August 4 Posted August 4 (edited) Pffff .... all you modders (godbless you all BTW!), and the hard work involved must get fed-up with all the 'official' game updates. Often changing your carefully created mod's specific behavior and their use, sometimes making them obsolete all of a sudden. IMO a most enjoyable IL2 mod so far was LizLemon's Torpedo thing that just does not work any more, and a real miss that it's not implemented in IL2 as my favorite indoor flight sim sport. (It's about the same with DCS, people spending months developing trains, vehicles, or even player planes, and all of a sudden their obsolete because of some 'official' version comes along, or there is game behavior program change.) ================ As a mod user and fan it's tough sjait also to keep track of which mods or version of one to implement in your game play. Most in my MODS folder are now useless maybe, and too time consuming to keep testing or updating, so i rarely install any one other than for special occasions. My current selection as example, some are quite old: Edited August 4 by JollyJack
