Crash to desktop when viewing track file, where a signal flare was shot by the player

The game has a feature for the pilot to shoot red/green/yellow flares from the cockpit. Unfortunately, when replaying a track file where this occurs, it crashes the game just before the shot 100% of the time. This is easy to recreate, no other factors play into it as far as I know.

I'm a bit confused. The forum should be the designated bug report platform. How and why would I contact the developers on the main site?
