I am getting better with the F-84, but my ability to connect with HVARS is nearly non-existant. I use the radar sight, caged, and try putting the pipper a bit above the target, single fire, in a shallow dive, airbrake out. Right, left, high or low. Those are my results.

I am fervently hoping one of our mission builders will make a air to ground rocket tutorial, but in the meantime, anyone out there who has found success with rockets want to give me some advice?

I'm slowly getting results. One trick that helps me is to approach the target along their line of travel and begin firing when my sight is just above the first target. I usually get two or three kills this way, but only if I have managed to stabilize my sight before I let the first rocket go. Still fighting with trim settings (F51). Rockets drop like crzy when first launched.

Just note with the F-84 the rocket firing modes for the gunsight are not yet programmed like they are in the F-51 and F-80. I've found that so far the most reliable method with rockets is to place the sight in fixed mode and use the small gap at the bottom of the sight as your aimpoint, which IIRC is 10 mils wide.

Thanks LukeFF and Viking1. I continue to struggle, but occasionally get some good kills. I did not know the F-84 is hobbled by programming deficiencies, so I may take a break from this aircraft until this is addressed.

Yes, these other sight modes are still planned for inclusion, just a bit farther down the road.

Since we're here. I noticed after I switched to the F-80 that, while my HUD says ROCKET MODE or GUN MODE, the reticle does not visibly change? Where is the best info found to use or set these modes?
