What does it represent?

It doesn't match up to hwinfo GPU usage, CPU thread usage or CPU core usage.

For the most part it stays low single digits. Only time I've seen it high is 50% in the Black Thursday time skip to intercept, about 38 to 42% approaching intercept, and the subsequent fight it bounces around 60% to 80%. The last bit depends how close I am to the bombers, and gets to mid 50% if I extend away.

The 80% appears to have just been during the initial run after that it was about 60%.

EDIT: Unrelated, but interestingly the complex B29s are incredibly easier to shoot down than the simplified ones.

I don't see how that could track, just because memory usage is different at times to CPU usage, thread usage, and GPU usage that never amount to a 50% to  60% overall.

I dunno, just trying to understand what its accounting for so I could look at what I need to tweak on my end.

Thank you though!

I think it's a system tracker measuring mission AI and background object load, like the game tracks how many resources you have (or it thinks you have) and how much it eats of it.

The low percent compared to the system actual load (cpu, gpu, vram, ram) i think -personal opinion!- is an indication of the insufficient optimisation level.

Somehow it shows how much the game actually uses resources, but not how much it actually reserves them.

I think that if it would have showed a value more similar with the adenalin overlay, it would indicate a better optimisation.

Just my deduction/opinion

I think it's the frametime of the physics+AI engine divided by the target frametime, or a related measure. As soon as it hits 100, you're seeing time dilation. So related to CPU usage, but not quite the same.

It might be a simulation load , it increases when there is huge amount of AI bombers in single player. On multiplayer is significantly lower because AI bombers formation simulation is run on dedicated server.

Good point about it being the game engine load, which likely means no real system tweaking can be done.

Thanks all!

@Panzerlang since you have the ULTIMATE gaming rig, could you please tell me how it's the CPU load in...let's say the infamous bomber mission intercept?

fps? CPU usage?

I'm trying to decide i i should overclock my 9700x or if it's not worth it. I'm not keen on doing that since i doubt my motherboard's VRMs  would be happy but i would give it a try if it would worth it. You know, no guts, no glory....

Thank you in advance !

I get around 40/55FPS and highest load I've seen is 84%.

My opinion is it's absolutely NOT worth OC'ing your CPU. All the times I've done that over the years I've not seen it improve anything particularly and especially not games. I no longer bother with it.

oh, oh, oh....thank you! i pretty much have the same data (fps/load), with a considerably weaker rig, so it's definitely not worth it. My cpu is already undervolted, but i was considering pushing it from 65W TDP (basic stock) to 105w TDP (stock overclocking). I won't. Thank you very much !
