Because I don't get it. Even after reading handbook instruction.

Could someone describe the exact steps to take to get this to work? For both the F80 and the F84/Sabre.

Hello! I'm going to write a very short and simplified guide for now. I'll try to put together a more detailed guide soon. 🙂

The best way to practice is to place a Li-2 or C-47 in the Task Creator and use it as a target.

The only aircraft currently equipped with a radar-ranging gunsight are the F-84 and F-86. Both use the AN/APG-30 radar system. For the Sabre, make sure you select the A-1CM Radar Sight.

What do you need to do?

Once you're in the aircraft, switch the gunsight to Radar Mode.

Then, fly towards the enemy aircraft and place it in front of you.

Once the radar can see the target, a light will come un (In the Sabre). You will also see the range scale on the gunsight move as the distance to the target decreases.

That's it! You're ready to start practicing. 🙂

There is more to the system, including things like caging and other sight functions, but we'll need some time to learn and document those properly.
