Gunfreak Posted yesterday at 01:34 PM Posted yesterday at 01:34 PM The Battle of Fox Hill, part of the larger battle of Chosin Reservoir was the bloodiest small scale action the US Marines have been engaged with. 75% Casualties were suffered in this engagement. Hector A. Cafferata Jr severely damaged his hand when he threw away a Chinese grenade, for 5 hours two men in a foxhole held of a Chinese regiment, . Cafferata used his E-tool to bat away grenades thrown by the marines. He picked up the Thompson Sub machine guns the Chinese assault troops used, and fired into the masses of shadows in the dark, as dawn broke, some 130 enemies lay strewn around the foxhole. Hector A. Cafferata Jr received the Medal of Honor for this. As dawn broke, the Chinese was making ready one last assault, then in a lord of the rings style save, out of the dawn came Royal Australian Air Force F-51 Mustangs and strafed the line of assembled Chinese troops. This ended the fighting around Fox Hill. This mission is very loosely based on this battle, I've placed the marine company as close to the real location of Fox Hill as I could find, IL-2 Korea map isn't exactly correct in this area, among other things a road is missing.
