Adjust & saving seating posttion in a plane?

IL-2 Sturmovik has a function to adjust seating position in each of its aircraft. I have Track IR and in IL-2 Sturmovik I need to start with Track IR off and start the game! Then fly a plane and adjust the seating position using the Ins, Delete, Home, End, Pg Up & Pg Dn buttons – then save with the F10 key! That saves the seating position for that particular plane when in the game with Track IR on. To save for other planes, do the same!

With Korea IL-2 Series, I’m finding my default seating position may be way out of wack from what it should be. Is there a way to adjust and keep my seating position, so I’m looking directly through the gunsight?

To adjust the default cockpit center view:

- In the cockpit, select center view (Num 5 key).
- While holding the Num 5 key, adjust camera angle/position and hit F10 to save the view.
- Now let go of the Num 5 key.

Note: You need to do this for every aircraft. The custom views are saved as .svc text files in the \IL2Series\game\data\LuaScripts\snapviews folder.

Edit: This method also works to save other snap views like Num 7, Num 8 etc. for e.g. a custom gunsight view.

You should be able to run the game with TiR running and temp disable TiR while in game to adjust the views - F9 key I think by default. Then re-enable when done.

It almost worked. I disabled Track IR, the held down NumPad 5 key, then with the mouse adjusted the view. Then hit F10 and then let go of the 5 key! I can now see out of the front of the cockpit but I'm sitting too low and can's see the aiming portion of the HUD! How do I raise my seating position so I can see the HUD?

From memory it is the group of 6 keys INS, HM, PU, DEL, END, PD that control your eyepoint Can't remember which is which at the moment.

I believe I tried those! I know that's how we did it in IL-2 Sturmovik -- but to make sure I'll try them again! Thanks for the reply!

No need to turn off head-tracking, just hold down NUMPAD_5...adjust your head with those 6 keys (and FOV if desired)...hit F-10 to save...and only then release NUMPAD_5.

OK -- I'll see if I can remember how I fixed it!

I fired the game up without Track IR activated to see if that was the problem. It didn't seem to matter! However, the only key that moved my seating position was the Page Dn key -- and it moved my seating position only to the right! At one point I apparently saved it while I was as far to the right as I could get -- then I couldn't change it. After mashing every key on the keyboard while holding down the Numbad 5 key with nothing happening, I took a look at Settings/Key Bindings/Cockpit View and realized there was a "Default key"! I tried "Default" and It didn't change anything, as I was still seated far to the right! Then I took a look at Key Bindings again and in Camera Management tried the "Default" key. Still no change but then I tried the INS, Home, Page Up, DEL, END & Page Dn keys and they all moved me just as they did in IL-2 Sturmovik!

So -- I don't know which "Default" allowed the INS, Home, Page Up, DEL, END & Page Dn to work properly but one of them did! I also don't know what I did to prevent those keys for working! I shut the computer down without flying, so don't know what else I changed when I clicked Default twice -- but assume I'll have to do some more custom key mapping!

In any event -- thank you for your replies! It made me zero in on the INS, Home, Page Up, DEL, END & Page Dn keys until I finally got them to work! We now know one of those Default keys allowed them to work!

Thanks again!
