Zakson85 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Ever since the *Il-2* series began, I’ve been intrigued by the developers' approach to the smoke trails left by aircraft. How is it that a P-51 with the throttle set to 70% and the mixture correctly adjusted produces significantly more smoke than an F-86 or MiG-15 at full throttle? Is there any source material that confirms this effect? For instance, some video footage of real aircraft. sabre - p-51 1
302_Miro Posted July 9 Posted July 9 That's right, the piston aircraft in the IL-2 series look like they are powered by diesel engines, with a failed turbine. 1
Zakson85 Posted July 21 Author Posted July 21 Thanks for significantly reducing the smoke from piston-engine aircraft in version 0.003! It would be wonderful if the effect also scaled in proportion to engine load.
