I can’t remember if I actually posted this, or it was a thought i have:   Create a new MCU that is “User input” and can be bound to a key in the key mapping section.

The possibilities are endless, especially combining it with the menu interface here.

You can set the difficulty, spawn new enemies/friendlies, change objectives, etc. by just pressing a key and selecting an option (provided that the mission was designed accordingly).

I think this would be a game changer for SP, giving more control to users. If there is any interest around this, I would like to lobby and request this to the devs.

I do that in multiplayer in dogfight mode. I use an airfield named admin whith plane named : AI fighter, bombers, ground target, etc... You spawn and after a few seconds it activates what you want.

On the up side, we should have the same options we had in great battles with options 0 through 9 for artillery spotting, reconnaissance missions, or maybe things like forward air control target designation.

I'm currently working on a mission where the player (as a wingman) has to report the position of the target to the flight. It's optional, as if the player misses it, another wingman will eventually report it, but I think it adds a nice touch to the mission.

Sign me up 🙂

But who knows. I found a way to do this in GB even with its outdated UI system. Maybe it becomes possible with the new scripting system as well, once they release how it works.

Is a new "User Input" MCU really necessary to achieve this? You can already trigger anything you like with the UI dialog. I guess the dialog box could even be made invisible, while it stays active in the background.

But you cannot trigger the dialog whenever you want, that's when you can use the user MCU

A turn on/off button for the dialog box would be a good idea. I wonder if this feature can already be added to the json files. Assigning a "close" button is already possible.🤔

Yeah, if only someone already had a suggestion on how to handle that 😂😭
